HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY CO-BLOGGER’S LAST NAME
Pretty easy topic choice today. The World Series gets going today. We can break the teams down. We can break down the numbers even further. My brain tells me Giants in 6. My brain tells me it is an even numbered year, and the Giants like even numbered years. My brain tells me starting pitching goes slightly towards the Giants, or at least two games with Bumgarner starting. Then, I catch myself. Maybe this unbeaten postseason run has me drinking the Kool-Aid and I shouldn’t. But, the overall depth, bullpen, and defense of the Royals is just better. Or at least definitely better LATELY. THEN, you take in the fact that A) if it is a toss-up, take the team with home field advantage and B) the Royals are a little like a team of destiny. Then, you hope the slight edge in managers won’t make Bruce Bochy some genius when this is all done. Then, you take in the fact that the lack of depth that the Giants have will further be noticeable with the DH rule in play. Then, I get made at the 2-3-2 setup for home and away. Dumb. Then, I say to myself that Terrance Gore’s speed alone is going to score three runs minimally. Finally, I say I think it will be a great series and come all the way down to the last out possibly, but that the Royals will win at Kauffman in seven games. Enjoy Game 1. That is all for today.
