Catch Of The Day

Wahoowa, all.

UVA_Sigma_Pi_House

Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.

In no particular order of chronology or importance…

On the clock.  No, it is not an airplane cast.  Wednesday evening blog.  Semi-speed version.  Let’s turn and burn.

  1. Greetings and salutations, people.  Thanks for coming aboard (the boat).  No hook, line, sinker, or river.  Just my random thoughts before I leave you for a few days as I head to the Commonwealth.  Pretty certain I will miss writing my blog more than you will miss reading my blog, but that is neither here nor there.  Let’s move.
  2. Happy freaking Kobe Bryant Day.   I need a BREAK from Kobe.  THEN, we can have holidays named after him, debate which number he played better with on his jersey, etc.  Just need some time.
  3. Hurry up and do your workout, Tebow. Tired of you too.
  4. And let’s not even get started on talking about Ryan Lochte being in Dancing With The Stars. Less tired of you though, Ryan.  I hate you so much that I like you.
  5. Conor McGregor took out Nate Diaz’s front leg so many times that he was put on medical suspension for his shins. That is badass.
  6. George O’ Leary is giving a run for anyone’s money in the ring of “least qualified person to get a statue made for them.” Let me get this straight.  He lied on his resume, went winless in 2004 AND 2015, and still gets a statue?
  7. I have to say. And I am not lying.  If you asked me what backcourt probably got along the worst in the NBA by just watching interviews and games, I think I would have guessed Beal and Wall first.  Second tops.  You just get that feeling.
  8. If you ever liked Uptown Tavern on 17th Street, you might want to visit it one more time. On the chalkboard at the front door…14 days I believe as of today.
  9. I will miss Ollie and Rob bartended for me.
  10. Why do my eyes suddenly itch? Both of them.  No redness.  Just feel the need to itch them.
  11. I totally missed in that story that Michigan misspelled that recruit’s name TOO. Double whammy.
  12. I will package last weekend’s pics at some point…but not today. Some good ones though.
  13. Early Seinfelds are on TBS in the after work zone if you care. I love the early ones.  More primitive, everyday plots with no over-joking.  Late Seinfelds have extraordinary plots with a little over-joking.  1994 and 1995 were the perfect mix.
  14. Ben will be covering a slot in the cast over the weekend. You might get one out of me, but I might just enjoy PTO instead.
  15. I noticed that Cooler, in her pancake voicemail from Friday, somehow used the complicated word “delectable.”
  16. We were at happy hour yesterday, and there was a lawyer at the bar with about 100 thumb drives in a container that was a pencil and pen holder in the mid 80’s, doing work, reading judicial cases.   Refreshing.
  17. I wore my Jason Bourne dog tags to bed last night and pretty sure that is all Lindsey will have of THAT.
  18. I believe the comeback of Devin Hester MIGHT work out. But the problem I have is he is 33, he has lost a step, and that STEP was why he flew by people on returns and at CB and WR.  Good luck, man.
  19. So, was Dez Bryant mad at his Madden rating of 90 before or after he was diagnosed with a concussion?
  20. Got a text about the new Point Break from Pancho. I have been avoiding watching the new one, but now I have to.  People are trying to tell me it is better than the original.    Do you realize the old one automatically gets extra points for being one of like 3 movies Keanu Reeves doesn’t suck in?
  21. Interesting about the Ronda Rousey headline of not being in the next UFC is that on a day to day basis, I can’t think of ONE person who cares either way.
  22. This Chargers-Bosa thing is getting out of hand. Bosa’s problem is twofold.  He wants offsetting and he wants no deferred money.  Here is the problem.  The guy above him did both, and the guy behind him did defer.  And he can’t win the battle.  All that being said, the Chargers are being a little abrasive in their actions and one has to wonder how THIS relationship is going to work out even WHEN he realizes he has to come in.
  23. This Bryan Stork-Pats story is so vague.
  24. Yes, Rory, the Olympic golf thing WAS pretty cool, and it was a shame you didn’t join.
  25. I am NOT bored of reading how the New York Giants are going to get away with explaining how they are keeping Josh Brown.
  26. Lockn’ Festival tickets are being spotted on Craig’s List for less than $100 now. I believe we will be attending on one day.  Almost HAVE to, right, if we are 30 minutes either direction of some great bands in a field.
  27. This Denver QB decision is SO interesting, and…there is this. Broncos fans are totally set up if they have a bad year.  Just blame it on the gray area QB decision.  You guys are gold.
  28. If you would like a nice, clean, knowledgeable, and entertaining article on the upcoming college football season, read the Herbie Awards on ESPN. Great stuff.
  29. I haven’t forgotten about the US Open.  Don’t feel like thinking about it yet.  Here.  I will pick Jo Wilfried Tsonga for the 13th consecutive Grand Slam event, and Serena on the women’s side.
  30. Can’t wait to be on UVA grounds again…can’t believe I have waited this long.
  31. In the daily financial report, I owe a beer to Vince and Bryan Szabatura still owes me $40.
  32. In my daily stakeholder report, Rudy held steady at $5. Brendan and Ralph aren’t joining, Rudy.  Give it up.  And IF they do, we probably will have to look into rules about how LONG people stay subscribed before payment occurs.
  33. In my daily Vince Spanish report, he is now 2% fluent.
  34. In my daily prize report, I am waiting on prizes until next week. No prizes, Rudy.
  35. In my daily time report, Greg, 24 minutes in and out.
  36. That’s it for today. Hope you enjoyed or are at least more entertained.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.
  37. Just a tagline. Ben will get one over weekend, and I will probably talk to you early next week.
  38. EDITOR’S NOTE: – And welcome again, new readers.  Don’t like or dislike this thing based on this blog or even a week worth of blogs.  Jim Rome used to say you needed about 2-3 weeks before you started getting some of the jokes.  Give me that amount of time, but also be aware I am on vacation this weekend in Virginia.  Therefore, my daily release of a cast might be a little more slim.
