Catch Of The Day

Quiet home night with some hockey…

HOOK:

“NBA.”

These are the years I think maybe the NBA playoffs should be 4 or 6 teams from each conference.  Seriously, we might as well skip the first round.  Aside from someone going on a ledge and saying Dirk has magic left, the Hornets are dangerous, or the Pacers have fight, the ONLY first round worth watching for competitiveness is Boston-Atlanta.

GS-HOUSTON:  Come on.  You think Dwight Howard is the player that will take THESE guys down.  Please. GS 4-1

LAC-PORTLAND:  Ok, you could make an argument that Portland and their ONE man wrecking crew are dangerous, but the Clips are a cut above or ten in talent. LAC 4-1

OKC-DALLAS:  Of course, most normal people will ROOT for Dirk, but OKC is actually all healthy this year, which they are not used to. OKC 4-2

SAS-MEMPHIS:  It really is a shame that Memphis couldn’t stay healthy this year and broke records for number of players signed/ used. SAS 4-0

CLE-DETROIT:  Detroit is an up and comer, but LeBron is off social media, which is good for at least one or two rounds of pounding inferior opponents. CLE 4-1

ATL-BOSTON:  This will be competitive.  I like the talent of Atlanta a little better, but there is just something about this Boston team.  Stevens gets them to the second round.  BOSTON 4-3

MIAMI-CHARLOTTE:  Charlotte IS dangerous, but this is not the regular season anymore.  Wade will get them past these guys.  Some close games.  MIAMI 4-2

TORONTO-INDIANA:  Toronto will win this, but the Pacers will give them a run.  Better team will advance.  TORONTO 4-3

Let’s just GET to the second round, ok?

LINE:

“Harsh.”

From Josh Pastner, new coach at Georgia Tech:  “My first question to anyone I [might] hire is, ‘Do you golf?'” Pastner told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “If they say, ‘Yes,’ you can’t work for me, because that means five hours on a Sunday or on a Saturday. Can’t. Don’t want it. That’s for my assistant coaches. Any of my assistant coaches, if they’re golfers, not working for me.”

Dude, golf is relaxing and would get them ready to come back to work hardcore.

SINKER:

“Beard.”

Chris Beard should have just told us he wanted less losses than the championship 1990 UNLV 34-1 team.  Chris did it.  Not really during a season.  Not really even during a month.  Nope.  Dude packed back up after THREE weeks of being hired, left Vegas, and went back near his old gig and family in Lubbock.  Lateral move if that.  Hope he enjoys Lubbock, because he could go on a HUGE couple year run at Texas Tech and I still would look elsewhere.

THE RIVER:

-Home alone writing this with hockey playoffs on in the background.  I love listening to hockey.  BEST announcers by a landslide.

-Hockey also has the best interviews.  Guys missing teeth speaking in complete sentences and being classy is nice to hear in comparison to every other major sport.  Or at least football and basketball.  Baseball interviews are good too.  Hockey though is beyond all of them though.

-Just saw the Red Wings fight…WOW.

-Not to be a homer, but the Steelers play FOUR playoff teams, the 10 win Jets, the dangerous Dolphins, the rival Ravens, and the bipolar Eagles in their first EIGHT games.  They then have the easiest schedule in the league for the final eight.  Don’t be surprised if I am ok with being .500 at the turn.

-The 30 for 30 about Orlando and Shaq was decent, but really didn’t have that money shot most of those shows have.

-Site upgrades are a slow process…working on them.  Twitter is on here now though, and I phased out UVA bball for you all.

-I am very scared about the advertising on the NBA jerseys in 2017.  I like NBA jerseys just like they are.

-Hey, Johnny Football, $20k in damages to a rental home is pretty impressive.  Keep it up, bro.  Can’t wait to see either the turn or the end of this saga.

-Lindsey had a practice wedding hairdo session the other night…whatever that means.

-My boy Bryce apparently didn’t want to enjoy HR #100 that long at all.  101 gone.

-I have to plan 20 seconds extra every car trip since I stare at my new car before and after I get in each time.

That’s it.  Going to go watch another episode of Game of Thrones continuing my warmup to the season.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
