Catch Of The Day

I might tune into games just to look at the new helmets.

I can’t do my daily workout quite yet due to the weekend’s Alpine Slide injuries, so might as well use my lunchtime to write a quick blog.

  1. The better team obviously won and shouldn’t have been in a win or go home match, but France sure scared the hell out of Brazil’s men’s volleyball team for the first game.
  2. That NBC Olympic channel has a LOT going on, and is perfect for watching odd sports on.
  3. I don’t even care if I am unaware if the event even happened already or not.
  4. I am not doubting their athleticism, but simply wondering WHEN as a child you say “I plan on being a pole vaulter.”
  5. I have decided I like that Geico parrot commercial.
  6. I love how Roger Goodell declares the rule that players MUST speak to NFL officials if on the Al Jazeera list.  That is fine and all, but the presentation of the rule is dictator like, and isn’t this the same list Peyton Manning was laughably on?
  7. Things have changed, and I am breaking my own rules in fantasy football this year.  I am taking a WR most likely as a first pick, AND possibly picking a Steeler on offense.  I typically hate doing that as I never want my FFL roster to possibly make me cheer for a running play on 3rd and 9.  I will not let it affect me watching my boys…but that WILL be one damn good offense and I have to recognize that.
  8. Ledecky signing an autograph for Phelps was my favorite thing yesterday.  Inverted from years ago.  So cool.
  9. Abbey D’Agostino helping/ cheering on her competitor who had fallen was pretty cool too.
  10. I read the story about Cam Newton and giving to homeless people, and have decided that my for no reason hate needs to go away.  Must be an ok dude after all.  At least on that front.
  11. The fact that Serena could lose the #1 ranking by not playing this week just seems…wrong and off.  We all know who the best player is, rankings rules or not.
  12. Now THESE are some great college football helmets.  Awesome.  http://www.denverite.com/air-force-football-unveils-pretty-dope-helmets-13691/
  13. Thanks for passing that along, Bob.
  14. Don’t forget to tune in to watch Oregon football player (Devon Allen) run both the semi’s and hopefully finals tonight in the 110m hurdles.
  15. Lithuania playing Australia and Spain playing France is good for the USA men’s basketball team as only two possible upset teams can advance.
  16. The Eagles picked up Dorial Green-Beckham today, and that guy is going to be a HELL of a trivia question someday the way he is switching teams.
  17. I have never been to Spokane, and my work logistics even call for my first trip inside Idaho’s borders this week.
  18. Which means tomorrow you get an Airplane Cast, which I LOVE doing.
  19. Finally, thoughts and prayers to the family of Joel Cornette, a Butler basketball kid back in the day.  Butler has had a tough year after losing this 35 year old, as they already lost Andrew Smith earlier this year at age 25.
  20. That’s it for today.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
