Hard to Watch.

Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.

In no particular order of chronology or importance…

On the clock.  Evening rant but I have stuff to do.  Speed version.  Let’s turn and burn.

1)       Greetings and salutations, people.  Thanks for joining me.  I feel like I am recently being surrounded by the song “Afternoon Delight.”  First the commercial, someone was whistling it at work…what the heck is going on?

2)      Well, you are either pulling up your pool’s standings and doing the math on how you can win the thing, or you have already tossed your bracket.  I am proud to report my bracket is intact with 6 of 8 Elite 8 teams left.  Looking solid thus far.  Who am I kidding about the solid part?  I am just glad to have one more week of breaking down games for pool money.

3)      Scary story about Mercer C Monty Brown bumping his head and having NO recollection of the Duke game.  Shame.  Lots of good stuff to remember.

4)      I am ok with Florida still being alive in the tournament, and kind of glad I intend on watching most games next weekend at home.  It is the FANS of the Florida team that really bother me.  That damn Gator bite thing is dumb.

5)      Of course, the UVA fans singing the Good Ole Song after Friday’s win I suppose is not at the top of the list for coolest things either.

6)      Hey, CBS, and other stations.  This whole play ONE game at a time during most of Saturday and Sunday daytime and then bunching up the rest of the games in three hours sucks.  I get that night time is better for ratings, but some of us people who blew off any constructive projects during the day need multiple forms of entertainment.

7)      I really like that Godzilla-Snickers commercial.  Good stuff.

8)      I had a stranger come up and pick up my bracket while my back was turned.  That was really bothersome.  The people next to me figured it was an old friend/ someone who CAN touch my bracket without my permission.  Leave my bracket alone, people I don’t know.

9)      Oddly, I sang that damn Katy Perry “Wide Awake” a lot more during the weekend than an older guy of my stature SHOULD be singing that particular song.

10)   I liked Wisconsin for the first two rounds because of them playing in Milwaukee (well, and because I like their squad of course).  After a lot of the upsets that went down, I am liking their chances moving forward also.

11)   Seriously, how does anyone really consider NCIS a good show?

12)   Mark Cuban says that the greedy NFL people will lose their fans.  Mark, on a very serious note, no matter what those people do, us fans aren’t going anywhere.  You can take THAT to the bank.

13)   Nice little Hard To Kill reference.  What a horrible but somehow watchable movie that is.  Well, it is not very watchable EXCEPT for the given in the theorem that you are watching it BECAUSE it is horrible.  It is kind of like listening to Bill Walton announce a game.

14)   Lindsey purposely turned on Hoosiers the other night and somehow wondered why we weren’t turning back to SNL.  You just can’t do that.

15)   I don’t know how many times I did sing it, but the over/under of my singing the CBS Sports intro song better have been a LOT.

16)   We have arrived at “break” days from basketball.  I will give Lindsey the TV until Thursday night.  She had an overload of it this weekend, and I need to be nice.

17)   Geno Smith says that the Michael Vick signing is “awesome.”  We’ll see, buddy.  You might want the option of pulling that comment.

18)   Nice to see the 100’s of people at Michael Sam’s autograph signing.

19)   Greg Oden will start his next Heat game.  Someone run outside and see if there is a meteor shower.

20)   PERFECT and THEN some.  The Raiders are looking to bring on Richie Incognito.  If THAT isn’t a match made in heaven, I don’t know what is.

21)   What happens when you win two games you shouldn’t have in the NCAA tourney?  You get money.  Dayton’s Archie Miller is getting paid immediately to have a preemptive strike before the moving to the next level rumors start.

22)   Twitter is not binding by any means, but we know Roddy White has a LOT of money, and I think the fan should get either the bet itself, or a game and LOTS of other stuff.

23)   I have no idea why I still laugh at the Jake from State Farm commercial.

24)   Sorry, Vince.  The “messy napkin” item is noted, but I don’t have time to expand on that right now.

25)   The Detroit Tigers picked up Alex Gonzalez today and continued their stockpiling at that position.  Nice player to get because you HAD to because of an injury.

26)   The Wichita State story was cute and all, but the UK-Louisville game is made for TV.  I still think Louisville takes them.  I trust the players, and I trust Rick Pitino with a week to prepare over John Cheaterpari.

27)   So, now we are building a control group.  St. Joe’s was undefeated back in the day and unproven.  They lost early.  Wichita State looked even better but still was unproven, and they lost early.  The next team from a mid major who is undefeated will get pretty much a 3 or 4 seed, because Wichita State pretty much massacred the schedule put in front of them.

28)   Win-win.  If UVA beats Michigan State, my undergrad school advances.  If Michigan State wins, my bracket is solid still.

29)   San Diego State has size that will bother Arizona.

30)   UCLA’s biggest problem I think was getting out of the weekend.  Now, they have the level of players that will be fun to watch versus Florida.

31)   More about the games to come in the next two days.

32)   That is it for today.  I hope you enjoyed or are least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
