Catch of the Day.

Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.

In no particular order of chronology or importance…

On the clock.  Not an airplane rant.  Evening rant.  Semi-speed version.  Let’s turn and burn.

  1. Greetings and salutations, people.  Thanks for coming aboard (the boat).  Semi speed version basically means I am on the clock, but not necessarily bound by a sentence per hook.  I hope to be much shorter than the Goldberg Pats rebuttal.
  2. I will be moving to Atlanta to write in 2016, meaning if you take Seahawks LB Bruce Irvin and me, that is TWO people the city of Atlanta wasn’t expecting at this point.
  3. Brett Favre missed the spotlight and must have been in between training for his flag football game, as he is on Tom Brady’s side of things.
  4. I breezed through some of the Pats rebuttal points. You have to hand it to them.  It still seems shady, but they cover some ground.
  5. How long has AJ Feeley been waiting to tell THAT real or made up story about Tom Brady and deflated footballs?? I guess his brief first 15 minutes in the NFL only felt like 13 minutes to him.
  6. I could try and apply the same thing to Mr. Posada for letting us know his feelings about Clemens and A-Rod, but putting Posada and Feeley in the same comparison seems kind of rude.
  7. Another random “I will tell you what is on my mind” moment was Bobby Bowden suddenly telling us that Winston is an off the field embarrassment. Bobby,  just cruise on into the much older years, bro.  I wouldn’t chirp in on this subject.
  8. Writing this during 1st quarter of the Bulls-Cavs game, and I believe Gasol will play tonight and also believe that the Bulls take this game at home.
  9. I can’t decide if it is funnier if he is serious or if he is joking. But, actual quote, regardless.  Bless ya, Snoop.  snoop-Capture
  10. If you weren’t going to turn on the Preakness to watch another American Pharoah win, you will now, with BOTH favorites (him and Dortmund) on the rail next to each other. Sure, the horses are for real, but so are the stats and history of the #1 and #2 positions also.
  11. The Rangers-Capitals Game 7 was worth staying up for, although I won’t guarantee I would have watched it into another period. The Rangers had THREE power plays in a row early on, and before they capitalized (no pun intended honestly) on the third one, I thought they would lose ALL momentum for the rest of the game.  It worked out.
  12. I still love listening to hockey announcers the best of all sports, am in awe how the refs stay out of the way of the puck, and think that pass on the first goal to Ovechkin that skipped TWO skaters’ sticks was magnificent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qx0sC57EkK8
  13. I have been in a slump and not been reading Deadspin. That ends today.  How dare I not make time to follow my own strongest advice in life.  The sight puts a smile on your face and we should all smile every, single day.
  14. Very quietly, Michigan basketball picked up the #14 player in the nation, Tyus Battle, over some other heavyweights.
  15. Thanks to Lindsey’s dad, Steve, for sending along John Oliver’s segment on college athletics and being paid. If you want a funny take on a serious issue, it is worth 15-20 minutes of your time.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX8BXH3SJn0
  16. Sure, I say either pay them or keep money for when they graduate, but I admit to not having the perfect system in my mind and see a slippery slope with what you do deciding which sports are football and which sports are chess when it comes to a payday.  What do you do with women’s and men’s sports?  What do you do with schools that excel in the off sports like lacrosse, polo, rowing, etc.?  The list of questions goes on and on for people like me who just know they should be paid in some way.
  17. Somehow, a roadside altercation involving angry man Kendrick Perkins just sounds normal to me.
  18. I am sure Odell Beckham Jr. didn’t care one way or the other about the Madden cover, but have a feeling that Gronk and his ex-Pats cheerleader girlfriend watched a sad movie that night together since he was hurt.  And I am sure he cried himself to sleep falling asleep next to:
  19. Aaron Rodgers won Celebrity Jeopardy, but somehow missed a Wisconsin question with the answer Harley Davidson and guessed Ernst and Young instead???
  20. I like the Knob Creek commercial where the line is about sending back the unused bourbon and they will drink it.
  21. Knob Creek is up there on my bourbon rankings.
  22. I think enough people have talked about it glowingly that I can see myself getting sucked this fall into either Fan Duel or Draft Kings.
  23. Guthridge died this week at 83.  Class act as a man and coach, learned under the best patiently, led HIS UNC team to the Final Four twice in I believe three years, and was a UNC guy that I think not many people would say a negative word about.
  24. The Big Ten-ACC Challenge matchups have been picked. Not sure how you don’t do Michigan State-UVA AGAIN just to piss me off, but the UNC-Maryland game is pretty much a possible national championship game and will have my time solely that evening.
  25. I know they were under a good faith contract, but classy for the Jags to sign injured Dante Fowler quickly before any doubts were had about anything.
  26. They are not earth shattering, but I don’t HATE the new 76ers logos, which is more than I can say about MOST new logos in ANY sport. Do they have multiple ones by the way?  What is the deal in this modern era with 19 sets of uniforms, multiple logos and brands, and basically loyal ambiguity and confusion if you ask me?
  27. Bonds is suing MLB for something else. Feel free to Google it on your own.  Write me a blurb about it.  I will copy and paste the Bonds nonsense.
  28. Everett Golson visited Florida, probably will visit other schools, and I believe Spurrier said he is not interested. Ball coach, I KNOW you are seeing your own spring practices, but you don’t even want to TALK to the kid??
  29. I am not the dumbest person in the world, and will never say that I am the sharpest knife inn the drawer either. That being said, I don’t fully get the Sprint-Half-Kevin Durant commercials, and don’t feel the need TO get them fully.
  30. A one year $8 million extension quickly muffled those Anthony Davis-Calipari reunion talks.
  31. LeBron James just picked up his 2nd foul in the 1st quarter, which is not like him.
  32. Just spitballing preliminary book names years from now.  Channel your Angler.  Tradebait. Marker Buoy.  Treble Hook.  Backwater.  That wasn’t after a week of thought.  That was after I thought about it for three minutes.  Just starting and just getting a plan.  I kind of like Treble Hook as I can mix in my music into the book.
  33. I don’t care what you think. I admit to tuning into The Voice occasionally.  I am secure in my manhood.  Anyway, I got trapped.  Lindsey likes to watch the first 3 rounds and then gets bored.  My personality gets attached to personalities, so now I have to know what happens.  My boy, Sawyer HAS to win this thing.  HAS to.  Dude has a too mature for a 16 year old, folksy, different, spot on, DOPE voice.
  34. I am not sure if this is the first time we have seen Tom Shady on a billboard, but I think higher of the anonymous Jets fans who went in on that sign.
  35. The Wizards-Hawks game was CRAZY last night. You felt like Paul Pierce sealed it, but just a little too much time left.  We pretty much figure either one of these teams will lose to either one of the other East teams, but a fun series is a fun series.  Great to see the Wizards playing with their main guy though, and this overhead pass was sick.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IXTn8HeVro
  36. I went to sleep during the first quarter of the Griz-Warriors game, and apparently there was no need for me to stay up, as the Warriors were their regular season self. Well timed sleep to further get rid of this cold that is bugging me this week.
  37. I can’t IMAGINE having a party in high school with Facebook, Tinder, and other social media (discussed on Denver sports radio the other day). Can’t FATHOM it.  Actually, I like the way my life went with technology.  When I was young, I had to learn to call people.  When I was in college, I still had to talk to people.  When I was out of college, I had the option depending on my mood.  When I got older and lazier and didn’t feel like talking to people as much, I had social media, texting, etc. Perfect.
  38. College with texting and Facebook just sounds DANGEROUS.
  39. Odd that it is his first win of the season, but Corey Kluber’s 18k game was a GEM. Look for him to make a run now, and sadness for any fantasy peeps who dropped him on his slow start.
  40. Do the Bud Light executives just get LOADED at the annual work meeting and come out here and there with lime, margarita, long island, and other crap that shouldn’t be associated with beer?
  41. I think the Clips win tonight, I hope the Clips win tonight, but a part of me kind of hopes they blow it so we get a Game 7 and can question the legacy and history of the Clippers for another few days. I like Game 7’s and with the Spurs blowing my bracket, I just need excitement.
  42. Finally, some pics of the Demon Kitty, who is sitting next to me right now probably reading this as I write it and planning my demise. Anyway, here are a couple pics after the closing.
  43. That is it. That cleared the list for the moment.  Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
  44.  He appreciates good game 7 NHL games:  j-watching hockey-Capture
  45. And like everyone, wonders what I am writing on my blog list/ legal paper, which is always within a few feet of me:  j-table-Capture
