Probably our last hope since the Spurs and Pop won’t care about records late in the season, the Jazz faltered at the end to the Warriors and lost in overtime. Here is the deal. This was a true trap game at altitude and the Warriors once again found a way by again. They win big, but have had many, many out of the trenches wins also. I may not be rooting for them to top the old school Bulls, but I also will not say that they AREN’T the real deal.
LINE:
“McGregor.”
I will never be able to say that I have the mind of Conor McGregor because I am writing this blog and he is arguably the most powerful fighter in the sport. But, I worry his latest decision might be a mistake. I get he wants Diaz again at 170 lbs. I get the pride. But, there is a reason we have weight classes and I just think that might be too big of jump from his normal weight class. Ask him if he will meet you in the 160’s. But, you are the man, so good luck.
SINKER:
“Canada.”
We can be pro-U.S. all we want, but hockey is above the border, people. Yes, every team is a mix of players from all over the world, so technically every team is Canadian, and Russian, and American, yada, yada, yada. But, the cities and energy and home venues will be missed, as there are no Canadian teams in the NHL playoffs for the first time since 1970. That is downright sad to be honest. Sad. Hate it.
THE RIVER:
-I have been reading the SI MLB preview at night for a couple days and not even out of the NL yet. I love previews.
-Kaepernick, it has been decided, will earn $11.9 million. Now the question is where. I get wanting to compete, but why drop $4 million when you can stick it to the team who doesn’t like you and MAYBE possibly play in Mr. Kelly’s A Screw Loose But It Is Fun Offense? Work hard on the practice field, collect your $11.9 million and don’t take a pay cut. We can’t say it is about the money, because you are the one not being asked to play right now.
-I get Denzel V’s 19/7/7 is pretty stellar, and I get he only missed 4 games to injury, but didn’t it just FEEL like Buddy Hield’s year? His stats are ridiculous and I blogged about them already. I was in the other corner ten games in. I FIRMLY got into Buddy’s corner the rest of the year.
-MORE mad about Chris Mack from Xavier getting beat by Self for coach of the year to be honest.
-The McDonald’s All-American game was fun as always, just glad a UVA guy suited up finally, figure MSU and Duke to continue to be good, and my oh my Josh Jackson could change the course of next year. Name a big bball school, and he has an offer. All of them, and UCLA and UNLV.
-I watched the Texas Western-UK telecast last night and it was a blast to be honest. Let’s go see Glory Road again. History, sports, righteousness.
-I think the last name Knighton and “Patriot Way” sarcastically go together in some blend of jokes about video and deflated footballs.
-JJ Watt plays with a bajilion torn core muscles…sounds about right.
-I leave you with this funny note. We all know how angry Frank Martin can be on the court and in interviews. They MISTAKENLY sent a text to him saying he was IN the tourney???? THAT fly on the wall probably had the story of the week in HIS world. Can’t fathom.
