Until next time, Commonwealth…

In no particular order of chronology or importance…

  1. Greetings and salutations, people. Too much to cover since I have been away, so one sentence hooks, super speed, I still might even miss stuff, and pics at the end.  Let’s move.
  2. This whole Kaepernick is goofy. Here is my opinion.  The flag giver Kaep the right to do those actions.  I personally think there are better ways to get that message across.  And, by doing his chosen method, he shows disrespect to the people who are in the military fighting for THAT flag.  Idea is fine, methodology I don’t agree with.  I guess this was more than one sentence, but just touching on one of the hot topics.
  3. I did enjoy all the funny stuff about his parents though.
  4. This is unedited…my intern is still in Virginia.
  5. The story was a minor headline, but Andrew White transferring to the Cuse is a strong move for both parties, although I already feel like the kid has been in school for 7 years due to transfers.
  6. Happy for hothead Patrick Reed getting a win, but SO weird that Rickie Fowler didn’t automatically qualify for the Ryder Cup team.
  7. And looking at the guys right behind him, I would say he SHOULD be a captain’s pick, but wouldn’t be surprised if he gets skipped over either.
  8. Not surprised that four players got booted from one MLB game, but when I read the article, I was VERY surprised the ejections were not all at once…weird.
  9. I love Tavon Austin as a WR and weapon, but with his stats, I am so surprised he gets paid 4/42.
  10. I think Broncos fans of course should be worried about his experience, but pretty sure the right guy got the nod based on performance up to this point.
  11. Gary Sanchez is making the Yankees so much fun presently.
  12. Tony Romo is out for a while, and it really begs the question of luck or fragileness or both.
  13. I didn’t catch the whole story, but I find it A) funny and B) believable that Lou Holtz had a speaking engagement revoked.
  14. I like it that SI picked the Steelers in the Super Bowl, my pick is the same but with the Cardinals losing, and I still can’t find ESPN Mag’s pick on a first glance because they do all of their stuff just WEIRD.
  15. (Skipping plenty of stuff)
  16. Now that Romo is out, I think Ezekial Elliott ought to wait until the postseason to hit up dispensaries.
  17. So close, Matt Moore…so close.
  18. I think it was a good trade with Ruiz and the Phils and Dodgers.
  19. It was probably a good idea for Beckman to exit stage left from UNC football.
  20. Andrew Luck is just playing from the old Peyton Manning playbook by posting he celebrated his new contract by buying a flip phone.
  21. My favorite story of the week was easily the state of OK trying to change the city of Durant to Westbrook.
  22. Yes, the one political article I read in the last week was the Trump tie in with the Wade-cousin murder…didn’t have much time.
  23. I know he went second round and I know he is a kicker, but it is uncanny how much press coverage that kicker from the Bucs is getting.
  24. The Wizards have the talent to be a player next year, and I am really bothered by the Wall-Beal media argument.
  25. Of COURSE, Tom Brady came in and threw a nice TD during a televised, glorified practice…of course.
  26. Pretty cool that US team from NY won the LLWS.
  27. Hey, Kerry Hyder, you need to keep in mind your training camp salary before trying to knock people’s block off.
  28. I have decided that the guy from Catfish (Lindsey watches it) looks like my old colleague, Jake Ellison…the dark haired guy.
  29. When seeing UVA’s newer downtown area, I found out the guy who did Boulder did it, and then realized this is like the third other town I heard “this guy” has done.
  30. All that press about Stork getting traded from the Pats, and he failed his physical?
  31. I forgot how bad Dulles Airport sucked…rental car shuttle, inside gate train, outside gate train, lots of walking, no shops or good restaurants, etc.
  32. Ohio State suspended a wideout for the entire season, and pretty sure they have another top 100 guy to fill in.
  33. Oregon will be starting their second straight transfer QB, and I think that makes them very dangerous once again.
  34. Well, glad to know that Jordan Spieth at least isn’t good at spelling.
  35. I know Vegas is rich, but got a feeling the Raiders have a plan to slightly screw over their residents…$750 mil?
  36. I don’t have time to give you the link right now, but you HAVE to watch the 4 minute Fiber Fix commercial…SOOOO funny and you won’t believe it is a REAL product.
  37. When they say “speed enforced by aircraft” on a road sign, do they really think we believe them?
  38. The Browns are trying to get the same trade bait as they would have gotten back in 2013…and that won’t work.
  39. Excited for the return of the Winter Park Ski Train…and I don’t even really ski…just want to ride the train.
  40. From what I read, the new Avs hire will work pretty well.
  41. The O’s closer just gave up his FIRST earned run in FORTY THREE innings…impressive.
  42. I love reading about how Charlie Weis is still getting paid by like three teams a LOT of money.
  43. I would rather Manziel wait it out on the NFL than go play in the CFL.
  44. I feel like Jeff Francoeur is going to be a HELL of a trivia question someday…traded again.
  45. I actually was unaware that Nike is exiting stage left on the golf business, and amazing they still have Rory and Tiger.
  46. I will shoot out an update on the Rant Squad when I get some organizing time…too much going on presently.
  47. Bosa almost HAD to compromise and get in camp with the Chargers…no leverage.
  48. In our daily Spanish report, Vince is now 4% fluent and his last voicemail sounded much better.
  49. In stakeholder news, I didn’t look today.
  50. In prize news, no prizes, Rudy.
  51. In time news, Greg, 39 minutes to write with some additional time to post some pics.
