Catch Of The Day

Hardest thing to win…

HOOK:

“Masters.”

The day after.  Thinking about all of the numbers we would be throwing around if Jordan would have won is scary.  But it wasn’t to be.  When thinking about collapses at Majors, you think about about van de Velde, Palmer, and others.  You can throw Norman in this group, but let’s keep in mind that it was legendary Nick Faldo chasing him during that slide.  And Spieth basically played a great opening nine before this collapse.  It was surreal to watch, and probably surprised Willett as much as anyone else.  Jordan will be fine.  Most legends have had one of these breakdowns, and they are just a little harder to remember because typically they they have some wins surrounding the loss.  The kid is freaking 22 years old.  Sure he will be fine.

LINE:

“Stanley.”

“The playoffs are here, folks.  I have said it before and will say it again.  The Stanley Cup is the hardest team sport to win, as there is no easy way to the Cup.  You are facing multiple physical series and it takes a lot of things to fall into place to win it.  Who has the depth?  Who will be the hot goalie?  I think a competitive series will happen with St. Louis and Chicago and it will go the distance.  I think the Pens-Rangers series will be the most entertaining.  And I still think this thing is Washington’s to lose.  Here is hoping my Flyers can make everyone else in the playoffs a little happier by stealing a series from them.

And congrats, Patrick Kane for being the FIRST American overall scorer this year.  Very surprising stat, and very solid.

SINKER:

“Will.”

We lost one of the good guys this weekend when Will Smith was shot following a car crash.  I won’t try and outdo some of the great articles people have written about this solid football guy who was a Saint through and through.  It just doesn’t make sense and is saddening.

THE RIVER:

“Warriors.”

Whether you are tired of hearing goodbyes to Kobe or about the Warriors chase for 73, it is almost over.  The Griz have the last shot to ruin the Warriors, but a skeleton crew going into Oakland and dismantling the Warriors doesn’t really sound feasible.  Weird that two games with NO playoff implications are so much in the spotlight.

Getting my 4Runner FINALLY tonight, got my wedding in less than two weeks, but will have website updates coming down the pike soon.

That’s it.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
