I think I have underestimated Michigan bball this year. Lowest seed (8) to ever win the Big Ten title and they are gelling at the right time obviously.

This weekend was my last weekend where I am the only guy attending. I have about 25 things to say, but let’s just say I really, really had to beg to hear Ice Cream Man by Van Halen. Everything else was girly.

I was very excited about the dive bar right by Cooler’s place, but the place had no games and colored table tops…not my future place. I need an adjective-animal as the name, at least two bar video games, and someone named “Jerry” or “Jenks” sitting at the end bar spot.

My initial thoughts on the bracket…
If Nova and UVA play, it will be a great positional game.
I like UVA’s bracket. No one is really big or too fast for them. They have a shot at the Elite 8. Problem is Duke is their opponent if they make it there.
Cuse should be in and USC should be out. One team was 9-8 in last 17 games. The other team was in the Final Four last year, and beat three teams in the top ten at that time. Throw out the bad losses.
BUT, 84th RPI would have been lowest in a long time, and 2-11 on the road/ neutral is bad. Jim, How about schedule some more road games? Just a thought.
Wisconsin-Va Tech will be one of the most entertaining, highly contested, BORING first round games…ever.
East Tennessee State will win one game.
Remember, SMU has a Duke transfer, and they are very, very good. They will play Duke.
Remember. Look at WHERE they play.
Remember. KU plays in Tulsa and then KC. Put them in your Final Four regardless of their front court depth. Guard play wins titles.
Remember. Oregon just had a recent big time injury. If you think you want to pick a different team, do it. I have them losing to Creighton.
I have UL advancing only because I see no one besides Michigan who can beat them in that area of the bracket.

I think UNC should have been a #2 seed. But, I am more bothered by the fact that they gave Duke the weakest #2 seed.

The seeding of Wichita State is absolutely ridiculous.
But, I don’t remember a year where there is little to no conversation about who got left OUT. Pretty clean aside from seeding.

I like the Zags draw. Problem is the same that Seth Davis has with me. We pick the Zags too far every, single year.
I had UCLA and UNC several times in my initial bracket. I changed my UNC pick to KU because of guard play, and really want to pick UCLA, but defense wins titles, and although they are better, they would be the weakest defensive team to ever win the title. Can’t do it.
Really? FSU-FGCU? You will read all week about FGCU upsetting them. Know this. FSU is TOO big, and way too athletic.
The top 3 seeds in UNC’s region have won TWENTY FOUR titles.
I try to hate John Calipari, but when they do an interview with him, I will admit he is very likable.
Remember. Your bracket is doing better than about 70% of America if you don’t tear it up after the first weekend. Just get 12-13 of the Sweet 16 and you are fine.
Whenever you doubt a game in the Elite 8, look at the free throw shooting percentage. You need to nail the gimmes at the end of the game, and there WILL be at least one close game.
