Catch of the Day.

Nine thoughts for today:

  1.  The Blue Jays have fought to a Game 6 in their series with the Royals.  The Royals do not lack fielding and hitting, do not have the stop gaps in pitching some other clubs have.  Well, the Blue Jays most likely will start David Price, one of their rent a title players they picked up.  Earn your money against the Royals Ventura (4 plus ERA for season), David.  Earn your first postseason victory at the RIGHT time.
  2. I know the Cubs weren’t built for THIS year’s World Series, and I know the Mets pitching depth is sick, but I kind of expected the Cubs to go at least 6 games in that series.
  3. Amazing that Mets Daniel Murphy just broke postseason records by Beltran and Gehrig and isn’t even signed for next year.
  4. Mattingly and the Dodgers part ways.  Mattingly WILL get another job and deserves one.  Yes, he took the highest payrolled team (well, two our of three years) to the playoffs three straight years as a manager.  But, when you have nothing to show for that payroll, a change of scenery is needed just for the fans’ sake.
  5. Dwayne Bowe is getting paid $9 million this year.  He has 0 catches thus far.
  6. Brady Hoke, we don’t care if you would have punted or not, hindsight is 20/20, and you don’t have that job anymore.
  7. Tiger, I don’t care if you are still after the Nicklaus record.  Win one tournament after healing from latest surgery and then let’s chat.
  8. After all THAT, I can’t believe the Cavs still paid Tristan Thompson 5/82.  Ridiculous.  You drew a line in the sand after a 90 plus millions ask, and we lauded you.  Then you say you are far apart for a month or two.  Now, you still cave for 80 plus.  Weak.  I hope you lose this year just because of that.
  9. I really wanted to go Seattle tonight in my losers pool because I kept telling myself “they CAN’T be this bad, right?”  I went a different direction.  I still think Seattle crushes them, but Colin is a wildcard, Seattle’s use of Graham is questionable, and I just wanted to share the same thought I think we were all saying when Seattle was 0-2.  Deja vu.  Can’t trust them like we used to suddenly…

That’s it for today.  Peace.
