Catch Of The Day

72 degrees at kickoff in late October. THAT will confuse some people out there. Shhhh. No more people in CO.

Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.

In no particular order of chronology or importance…

On the clock.  No, it is not an airplane cast.  Monday evening blog.  Semi-speed version.  Let’s turn and burn.

DISCLAIMER:  This blog is sarcastic and is intended as harmless fun only.  This is not a blog for sensitive readers.  Know that any seemingly derogatory or abrasive statements are NOT MEANT AT ANY LEVEL OF SERIOUSNESS.  Read on ONLY after accepting the above statements.

(NOTE:  I started with the river and then backtracked to the hook, line, and sinker.  I got tired and wanted off my computer.  Hence the odd brevity at the beginning.

HOOK:

“Broncos.”

Not betting on it, not rooting for anyone, and just enjoying.  The whole Brock thing makes it so interesting.

I got Broncos 20-13.

LINE:

“Series.”

Tomorrow we get it going.  I think the Cubs are better, but the Tribe might be a team of destiny the way they have played.  One way or the other, it will be fun watching two teams try and stop their own wretched curse.

SINKER:

“Tie.”

That game was painful last night.  You can read all sorts of articles by people who get paid to write about games.  I am tired.  I stayed up ONLY because I had a bet on the game (and a field goal would have solved THAT problem), and let’s revisit using the college playoff rules for the NFL AGAIN.

THE RIVER:

-We presently live in a world where ESPN pays writers to talk about MVP and Matthew Stafford.  Wow.

-I used to go in the backyard and shoot hoops if the Steelers first half didn’t go well.  I don’t have a backyard or a basketball hoop these days, but being productive around my small house certainly came at a time in the third party where I had hope.

-Landry Jones was better than I expected, but they still need to draft a new QB next year in the draft.

-And not having to go anywhere for the Steelers game was definitely a)cheaper b) more comfortable.

-Bye week next week for my boys, and plan on doing SOMETHING different besides sitting on my couch for 6 hours on a Sunday.

-My Instagram weekend attack is now done, and let’s do it again next weekend.

-Great.  Even Lindsey’s PUMPKINS reflect cats in our house.  Pretty good I would say though.

-No, I still haven’t figured out the subscriber issue that I know of.  Guess we have another cast with them left out to dry.

-Taking the kitten to the vet went fine…aside from 45 minutes of piercing meows that would make nails on a chalkboard pleasant.

-We did the Dazzle brunch for Drew’s birthday yesterday, and I am SO useless at buffets.  I eat a plate, get full, and then am hungry 30 minutes after LEAVING the buffet.

-Wow, CO backdrops suck for proposals.  My Instagram has it on there.  Beautiful pic.

-Glad Southwest is bringing back the “wanna get away?” commercials, as the Ihatemyjob1 one is pretty good.

-Not as good as the Ice Tea-lemonade commercial, but how would that be possible anyway?

-The Family Guy last night was pretty funny, with the interviews and such.

-I need to get my hands on the Inferno book to reread.  Can’t go to the flick before reminding myself what adventure THIS one is.

-I need to figure out a Halloween costume early this week so…I can go buy stuff for it.

-Once again, I might just do Puddy as a face painter.

-Weird I used to go to every single Widespread Panic concert with about 4 hours of home, and now I am about to possibly miss them twice in one year.  Not sure where my motivation went.  Now, I just seem to go to every decent Fillmore concert…since I can throw a stone off my patio and hit the building.

-At the rate he is going, Joe Flacco is going to be a heck of a trivia question.  He won one, we called him “elite,” and now has seemingly made it his focus to be anything BUT elite.  Average.

-I might find plans for Thursday night.  Jacksonville vs. Tennessee?  Ugghhh.

-Oh wait.  Cal and USC is Thursday.  THAT will be a fun game.

-I missed who the commercial is for, but laughed out loud when they talked about eliminating NFL players’ introductions including “The” in front of their college name.

-MNF just started.  The players saying their school is actually my favorite pregame part, and they don’t do it in MNF.

-When did the local 107.1 radio station appear?  Recent?  No?  That is like my favorite station now.  Old school rap.

-Oh wait.  I guess most people don’t listen to actual radio stations anymore besides me.

-So glad Cris Collinsworth doesn’t do MNF.  I can turn the sound up.

-So, the Jets overpay Fitzpatrick, wait until he throws too many INT’s and then bench him, Geno Smith goes down, and now Fitzpatrick is the starter again.  Sounds like one awkward flow chart.

-Mr. Ajayi has come out of nowhere with a couple 200 yard games.  Wow.

-That Ohio State loss won’t hurt them most likely.  Washington has two tough games at Utah and Cal coming up, Clemson still has FSU this weekend, Bama has the SEC in general, and Michigan still has…Ohio State.  Things will sort themselves out most likely.

-Seriously, every single possible NFL QB is at least getting a voicemail from the Browns this year.  Really, really bad luck along with bad talent.

-The new ESPN Mag has Melo on it with “The Truth” as a slogan.  First of all, I am pissed if I am Paul Pierce.  Second, I don’t care what truths you got out of Melo, ESPN.

-Your Monday is really lacking if you don’t also read MMQB on SI.com.

-In my usual cyclical rotation, I am back on Cholula.  GREEN kind this time.

-The Rockets ownership was asking for less Dwight Howard minutes, and today they let go of everyone who WAS a top pick and I guess now are admitting to them being mistakes.

-Everyone wants less Dwight Howard.

-Today the Celtics cut previous first rounder RJ Hunter.  This situation is different though than the Rockets.  The Celtics have made a lot of GOOD draft picks and therefore have to release the worst best guy.

-People watching MNF are going to be very confused that game time kickoff was about 72 degrees at the end of October.
