Greetings and salutations, people. Thanks for coming aboard (the boat). We are doing the speed version tonight as I haven’t blogged since Wednesday. One sentence and one sentence only per hook for you newbies (and I think we have a few). Let’s move.
We love rivalries, even if they somehow are manufactured, and maybe the NBA should have fined $10,000 the guy for a postgame bump, but coming from a guy who averages 4.6 minutes per game is not the optimum way.

Watch these games early this week even if you don’t know who the teams are, as their ENTIRE season rides on winning their tournament.
We are experiencing a weaker year for mid major teams that don’t NEED to win their tournament to make the Dance.

Hell, I like Frank Gore, but still not saying I would pick up a 32 year old running back to replace my previous younger RB.
I am sure Mark Sanchez is a great dude, but also not saying he is anything MORE than a second string QB…hence the Mariota guess.
Plus, Chip is pretty much doing ANYTHING he wants that does NOT fall into commonplace football theory.

I feel like Cliff Lee has been close to retirement several times in the last five years in a way we were not rooting for.
I think this trading of Colin Kaepernick rumor floating around is silly not so much that it won’t happen now that Harbaugh is gone but because I am holding onto anything above a marginal QB these days in the NFL.
I know the Pats are smarter than me and just won a Super Bowl and all, but I am holding on to Revis if financially possible…but they are not.
He might be a peninsula and not an island these days, but come on.
But, they DID re-sign McCourty, so I guess they haven’t lost it like Chip Kelly or anything.
What a CLASSY goodbye from Torrey Smith to the Ravens and the city of Baltimore from a guy we can’t really hate who deserves a higher price tag.
Maybe QB’ing in Houston or New York is a dream of Brian Hoyer and that is fine, but not sure how moving to either city as far as team quality is not a lateral move.

Discount the whole season if you want, but after the whole thing, we have what most polls had BEFORE the season…Kentucky and Duke at #1 and #2.

I am personally glad that Dustin Johnson won this weekend, we know he has the game to be the best golfer, and I hope he beats whatever demons he may or may not have.
So you know, Ohio State is a decent basketball team, they were at home, Wisconsin is hitting a scary stride, and going on a 16-0 run on the ROAD is pretty impressive.
You know the RB position is bleak in a way in the NFL and that having one under 30 years old is important when Mark Ingram gets the contract he got from the Saints.
Yu Darvish still has life in his 28 year old arm, and if you love baseball, I think we all hope he gets out of this injured state with the same velocity and mindset.

UVA lost to Louisville, and I think that they still get a #1 seed as long as they make the ACC tourney final.

I snowshoed for the first time in Crested Butte, and more on that trip in a bit.

I got done snowshoeing in Crested Butte, and let’s just say I DESTROYED a couple bowls of soup of a soup with some of my favorite words “roasted, red, pepper, gouda.”
