In what cloud?

Quick one today, as I have time in front of the Bama-Florida game, and don’t feel like writing a book tomorrow.

  1. Well., the Dbacks surprised everyone.  They weren’t on any possible list that I saw for Zack Greinke.  The Dbacks have some potential, but I wouldn’t say they are World Series primed or anything.  Zack is from Orlando, so no roots in in Arizona.  And, most likely, other teams wouldn’t give the older pitcher 6 years.  So, Zack wanted years and money and really doesn’t care about winning now in my opinion.  Nice paycheck for a guy who goes out every five days.  Guess that Fox Sports Arizona ownership and the new TV deal paid for Mr. Greinke.
  2. The Giants didn’t waste ANY time after Greinke went getting Samardzija.  Well done.  They very much know to keep replenishing their rotation.
  3. It is halftime of the Florida-Bama game, and at 12-7 with no field possession or offense, Florida has to be happy.  Now, Mr. Saban makes his legendary halftime adjustments and most likely blitzes them in the second half.
  4. So, not only did Aaron Hernandez end up a criminal, he decided to be a badly behaved inmate.  Got to have goals I guess.  If you are going to be something, be the best at it.
  5. Houston beat Temple today, but FAR from a wasted season for the previously unsung Temple Owls.
  6. As sort of foreplay to a big football night, two QUALITY hoops games this afternoon.  Arizona pulled an upset but not a monstrous one at Gonzaga (guard play might haunt them).  At one point, I watched four straight turnovers by Gonzaga in the second half.  How you don’t close out that lead at home is beyond me.  In the other game, Kansas outlasted Harvard.  I was on the Zags game, but Harvard scared them a little.
  7. With Baylor losing today to Texas, glad OU closed nicely on their season.  Otherwise, I guess all FOUR playoff spots would be up for grabs going into this week, and the Big 12 would have gotten shut out.
  8. I still forget you can pause and rewind shows and games.  I treat commercials for what they should be…bathroom breaks, getting a block of cheese out of the fridge, and drink refills.
  9. Lindsey is taking advantage of me, as one of the odd weak spots in my movie liking is Hunger Games, and we watched the first two of that series again last night instead of flipping on something new.
  10. Motivation definition:  getting a long term contract deal before trying to pull the upset of the day.  #unc
  11. I went to see Creed today.  No spoiler alert, so keep reading.  Aside from the fact that I should have been called in as a consultant on the last few movies as I could have made this one GREAT with a few modifications, it was solid.  It was fantastic if you are a true Rocky fan, and just a good movie if you are unbiased.  The story was decent with only a few holes (I won’t give anything away).  Two VERY cheesy moments that were slightly over the top.  Stallone was actually a worthy actor and did a LOT of acting with plenty of time for us to get tired of him…but we didn’t.  The Creed son was solid.  The big fight nemesis should have worked out a little more before shooting to make me believe it more.  The fight scenes were pretty locked on.  Music was a nice blend of old Rocky and new school beats.  A chicken chase WAS in the movie, as it should be (but a little too early if you ask me).  I chuckled when the kid try to tell Rocky his workout he gave him was now saved in the cloud.  Rocky looked towards the sky perplexed.  I could go on and on, but I will let my next review let me actually tell you spoiler story mods I would have done.  Overall, good movie, but you can wait until it is a rental.
  12. That’s it for today.  Second half of football has begun.  Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
