Catch Of The Day

Have a good one, Rio.

Just a quick one today as I have packing and things to do…

HOOK:

“Rio.”

The USA team excelled.  We have some new heroes for the next couple of years.  No one died from polluted water (yet).  No huge doping stories.  We watched the final parade of two of the greatest Olympians ever.  They dodged stories about moving poor neighborhoods and dead construction workers.  And the only REAL media released event didn’t even happen (What would Ryan Lochte do?).  I was never sure when I was watching something live or not, but overall, it was a pretty successful Olympics.  I have to say that WHO the network had announcing from each sport, I really enjoyed.  Costas was Costas.  Gaines brought SO much energy to the swimming events.  And the odd sports picked people who educated us without talking down to us.  See you in 4 years (well, sooner for the winter ones).

LINE:

“Colangelo.”

Get their acts together, Jerry?  Is that statement JUST about the final game?  Not sure if you are aware there were THREE close calls for USA basketball.  Spain didn’t have a Gasol, Australia didn’t have Simmons and Exum, and Canada didn’t even PLAY.  This year’s team won, but definitely didn’t write any history.  Easy, Jerry.

SINKER:

“Lochte.”

I never enjoyed watching sponsors leave a guy so much as today.

THE RIVER:

-I am not saying I definitely believe that Gooden did drugs before missing a public appearance with Strawberry.  I am just saying that he can’t think of ANYTHING better to say as an explanation aside from “some things happened???”  Shady.

-I have too much going on.  The cargo shorts PPT keeps getting pushed back, but still on my list, and Labor Day weekend sounds like a good time to knock that out.

-How is that second round kicker working out for you, Tampa?

-Easily national news, and this three headed QB battle in Denver is fun stuff.  SO interesting that there is not a definitive answer.  One guy has plenty of starts but you sense impending doom whenever he takes a snap (NO pocket awareness whatsoever).  One guy is a soft spoken smart guy with a gun, and JUST when you thought he might be a solution, he throws a key pick 6 in a glorified practice.  The last guy is the future, but what do you do with stats against third units?  And are you trying to WIN a Super Bowl by starting the rookie?  Anyway, more to come and fun stuff.  I personally like Siemian.

-The fact that the Pats lost a few people to injury could be concerning to Pats fans.  But, as far as Dion Lewis, considering the Pats recycle RB’s like there is no tomorrow, is anyone really worried they either A) that they won’t have a running game and B) that it will matter either way?

-Not sure what he said, but my favorite guy on Twitter, Jim Weber, had his account suspended.  Glad I didn’t retweet whatever he said.  I admit that I am kind of lost without him on there, as I just retweeted a couple of his tweets a day.  Clever dude.

-No prizes, Rudy.

-Rudy has used his stakeholder plan to net $3 thus far.

-When I update my personal blog cards, I might even get a couple Fillerbuster Stakeholder cards for some of you all.

-Not sure when my wife suddenly started craving McDonald’s, but I am sure as hell enjoying it.

-I admit that not only did I not know SummerSlam was occurring, but didn’t even think John Cena was still wrestling.

-Woody Paige just spent his entire time talking about the Panthers players playing Tic-Tac-Toe on Twitter during a lightning delay.  Dude is OUT there.

-Vince, you were definitely .05% fluent on that voicemail, and I wish you luck in achieving the 1% plateau.  He is learning it after not being able to understand the Spanish coach in the Olympics.

-Not QUITE as good as the Kristin/ Cooler voicemail I heard over the weekend about cupcakes.

-Did Melo actually “announce” he was retiring from USA basketball?  Ugghhh.

-Smart television put on a teaser of The Voice last night when I wanted to go to bed.  Find the Dream On song the judges all did together.  Pretty tight, and Adam did the high part ridiculously.

-I admire the political statement of moving their wedding from North Carolina, but I won’t lose any sleep on the finances for moving it between Russell Wilson and Ciara.

-Greg, in and out in about 22 minutes.

-And welcome, new readers.  Don’t like or dislike this thing based on this blog or even a week worth of blogs.  Jim Rome used to say you needed about 2-3 weeks before you started getting some of the jokes.  Give me that amount of time, but also be aware I am on vacation this weekend in Virginia.  Therefore, my daily release of a cast might be a little more slim.

That’s it for today.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.

PICS:  I have some pics from the mansion party but haven’t organized them yet.  I will post them in a day or two.
