Catch Of The Day

Happy Festivus!

Thoughts for the day…no intern until 2017 so sorry for grammatical errors.

  1.  The Giants will most likely make the playoffs.  Eight different things have to happen for them not to.  I looked over the list.  Not the most unheard of things on that list.  Nervous?  Probably not.  A little angry they couldn’t have just taken care of business?  Probably.
  2. Listen.  Lots of problems with last night, but that is why the Giants have been the most confusing team in football over the last decade plus.  When we write them off?  They win it all.  When we think they are good, they blow it.  Eli Manning has two very confusing rings and last night’s 63 pass attempts were all over the board.  13 QB’s have thrown the ball that many times.  Five have won the game.  They were within one score the entire fourth quarter.  They threw it 29 times and ran it FIVE times in the final frame like they were down three scores.  Very confusing, and they walk away knowing they could have put themselves in a much better chance situation against a team that got up on them two scores early.
  3. The Indians paid the bill today to get the bat they needed.  After making the World Series and losing painfully, they pick up Encarnacion, who was the first or second best bat out there, depending on who you ask.  he will make them better without a doubt.  Love that club for next year also.
  4. The problem about George Karl and JR Smith, Kenyon, and Melo now is that it wasn’t a simple statement to the media.  It was a BOOK.  A book goes through editors, many brainstorms, years of writing, and then…it is a BOOK.  It can’t go away or be apologized for.  I personally hate two of the three players mentioned, but that is neither here nor there.  Karl went from someone we felt sorry for and also respected in the coaching community to a guy who is literally throwing ex-players under the bus.  And, if I haven’t mentioned this, it is a BOOK.
  5. JR Smith will miss 12-14 weeks.  Good news on all fronts for us fans.  It is an injury that still allows him to go out to clubs, he has more free time, and can’t wait for him to do something stupid.
  6. I heard that Tiger was playing with Trump this week.  That is news.  So is Tiger coming back.  But, I am still getting over the photo of Mac Daddy Santa.  Google it.  Weird stuff.
  7. The Heat retired Shaq’s jersey #.  That is great.  He retired in 2011.  I know there is a five year rule on the HOF, but is there a wait rule for retiring numbers too?  What took so long?  Did Riley have to wait until Bosh, Wade, and James were all out of the picture so he could deflect non championship focus to Shaq?
  8. I assume the O’Bannon family was too busy trying to get college athletes paid to see that the little O’Bannon not only was committing to a different school than UCLA but there RIVAL.  The kid is #34 in his class.  With UCLA doing what they are doing, he must have had some really good reasons not to jump on THAT bandwagon.
  9. I believe the Browns will finally win tomorrow against the Chargers.
  10. I believe that Matt Barkley will have a great afternoon tossing for the Bears.  And that his afternoon will put the Skins to rest for the year.
  11. Oh.  Happy Festivus.  Official holiday for me and the best comedy of all time.
  12. That’s it for today.  Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
  13. Side note:  Here is my blog template right now in progress.  I would love to have any simple feedback on subtractions, additions, or modifications so we can all have fun with this.  I will post this at the end of each blog until January 3rd, my first 2017 blog.  Thanks in advance for any feedback.  I need to streamline it though, so I can just plug and play daily stuff without taking more than 30 minutes from my day for blog time.

Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.
