Catch of the Day. Wahoowa.

One hook and one hook only.

UVA football is on the comeback, with a vicious defense, and an offense that somehow scores without offensive weapons.  Here is the deal.  Lindsey and I HAVE to go somewhere because somehow the Duke-UVA football game isn’t on main TV in CO…because OU owns ESPN this morning.  Life was so much simpler when I didn’t care about watching UVA football on Saturday.  But, we are now “other receiving votes”  and we play Duke today.  In 1991 when I went to school, this game would be a joke in football (because Duke sucked) and competitive in basketball, but times have changed.  Maybe there isn’t a Chris Slade/ Terry Kirby aka Thunder and Lightning on UVA, and maybe Peyton’s boy has changed the culture at uppity Duke, but today’s game is big.  If UVA wins today, they will be 3-0 in the ACC, with winnable games against UNC and GTech next before going to the crab stealer’s crib.  Bottom line.  Just like I love Mike Tomlin, I love Mike London, who is quietly not only putting together a coach of the year campaign, but making me…hopeful.  When I applied to colleges, I combined schools that were the best in sports, partying, and academics with the school that no one from my school had ever gotten into overall.  I literally read Playboy to get the party rankings (we were #7 at the time).  With UVA basketball being briefly at #1 last year in basketball, and their football team making some noise, I feel like things are coming back around again (aside from the fact that my fraternity is like fraternity of the year every year for doing nice stuff which definitely didn’t happen when I lived on Virginia Avenue in Sigma Pi).  Anyway, Wahoowa, and go Cavs today.  I learned in freshman orientation the first day that you needed to streak the lawn (below) one time at UVA to be considered a Wahoo.  I was there at UVA about 8 hours before I streaked the lawn twice (64 times overall).  The best decision I have ever made (there aren’t many) is going to UVA.  Take down Duke, boys.  Long blog tomorrow.  That is all for today.
