The things I think you need to know today…

1.  I admit to not being totally sold on Indiana basketball thus far even with the recent streak, and the blowout over Illinois tonight.  By my count, not ONE presently ranked team in that streak.  LOTS coming though.
2. I have KU-OSU on in the background.  Wow.  What is going on with KU?  I guess the experience and talent are WAITING for March.  Gotcha.
3. KU has one bright spot tonight.  Thon Maker, the 7 foot recruiting sensation has named his final 6 schools.  KU is the only real “big wig” in the mix.  No UNC, Duke, UK, Zona, UCONN, etc.
4. Love the pickup by the Tigers of Justin Upton.  Not sure if it will have me predict them to be win the World Series for like the 4th year in a row, but we will see.
5. Wait, I had the Nationals in there I think two years ago.  Now I feel better.
6. Wow, THAT was a fast reign at #1, OU.  To be fair, go back and look at preseason polls and look at ISU’s roster.  Before The Mayor left, they had top five and future Final Four ALL over their backs.
7. I guess the Cleveland Cavaliers are laying a TRAP for the Warriors if they see them again in the Finals.  Smart.  Don’t show ANY of your stuff and I hope purposely get blown out by 40,000 points…yeah.
8. When the Warriors are shooting anything above average, they are very, very, very hard to beat.  I realize that is not exactly splitting the atom.
9. Before you think TOO hard about when Coach K has lost three home games, look at their schedule.  They play the NEXT three on the road, with the middle game being the ridiculously talented Miami team.  Possible other loss coming very soon.  God Bless the #1 seed in the region with them being an 8 seed.
10. Wait.  It’s Duke.  I forgot I think it is impossible to give them anything lower than a 4 seed.  My bad.
11. It was one thing for Nadal to lose because of possible injuries.  It is a whole other thing for him to lose being totally healthy after the long break on a hard court.  Wow.
12. Poor Venus Williams.  Not even playing doubles with her sis this year.  Wish her exit was going to be so much cooler for a class act that brought about real change in women’s tennis.
13. Scuba class is harder than I thought.  Luckily I feel more comfortable in the water than on land, but WEIRD breathing underwater and equalizing and all that jazz.  Still not sure how I thought a human going to the ocean floor would be EASY.
14. But I get to swim with sharks finally on my honeymoon in the diving capital of this hemisphere, which is one of my top 20% bucket list items, so bring it ON.
15. I feel like my ears hurt from last night’s training, but that is probably me just thinking about exploding ear drums and lungs while writing about scuba diving.
16. UVA bball is playing on that mythical ESPN3 channel.  Do I try it on my phone?  Computer?  Nah.  I have a lot of stuff to do tonight.  Plus, hopefully, I will be able to say “it’s just Clemson.”
17. Why did the Broncos continue to doubt the Big Ben injury after the game?  Sorry he plays so realistically good even being shot up for the first time in his career.  Hey, I was very nice yesterday about this loss.  Leave the guy alone.
18. Why is Antonio Smith calling Tom Brady anything close to a crybaby?  Cue sleeping dog and THEN some.
19. Jim Schwartz has a football job again and he may or may not be happy about that given that it is the Eagles.
20. Sometimes I write about a bunch of random stuff that some of you love and some of you skip.  That being said, and because I am in a rush and busy this week, the people who skip the personal stuff are…saved.
21. Things missed:  Mac and cheese, Amy Schumer, Germans skiing, the K Guy catching footballs at NFL games, all random Breck pics, Batman vs. Superman, does Droid voice have a name, Phil Simms jacket/ sweater, Zoolander 2, the Owens movie, a jackalope being confused with a baby elk, Arnold in video games commercials, how my next dog will be named Lambert, mac and cheese two more times, Jordan Smith doing the national anthem, bandwagon.net pregame NFL skit, and the end/ bar well bar seat and its amazing value to me.
22. (Actually, this sounds like a time saving idea for this blog.  Things I don’t expand on that I still want to mention.  Love it.  Open for ideas, but let’s call it “Rush” for the moment.)
23. I have to go read an article about how the Steelers are screwed on lack of youth, the window of winning, and salary cap problems.
24. The theme is random as I am NOT doing all of my random story stuff.  So, imagine like 45 not blogged about ideas.  This was one.  Sean Penn was on the movie awards the other night, and I think he has some of the most underrated or forgotten movies out there.  Lindsey doesn’t like him, so that makes my man crush awkward.  He is lower on the list as he is getting ancient.
