Catch of the Day.

HOOK:

“Scenery.”

The Knicks released Amare Stoudemire today because of their future, a contract mistake a couple years ago, injuries, age, direction, and his $23.4 annual salary.  This is a good move.  So, after he clears those waivers when no one will pay him that, where will he land and will he will a help to that team?  I am hearing a couple teams in the mix.  The Clippers would be an OK fit if there is no plan on him starting, or if Blake is definitively moving to the 3.  In Phoenix, maybe he starts, and it is old team, but there is no chance they win anything especially with Dragic being shopped.  Dallas would be a nice logical place for him to land, and he would fit in pretty well with that team and acknowledge what they would need him for.

“Trouble.”

The Bucks are also working on a buyout with Larry Sanders for different reasons.  He can’t behave and is being paid too much.  He will find a job, as a big man is a big man when it comes to the NBA.  What is interesting is that the Bucks are 30-23 overall but 12-7 without HIM, so they seem to be able to be just fine without him thanks to some nice coaching from Jason Kidd.

LINE:

“Beatdown.”

SNL beat the NBA All Star Game in ratings last night, and I will admit that IF I choose to watch it, I also taped the second half of the game and switched over too.

-While Nice guy Durant continues to do his best Westbrook with the media lately it seems, Russell had a very nice ASG and won the MVP honors.  Let’s hope Westbrook, Obaka, and Durant can all be healthy for this year’s playoffs, because I really want to see them on all cylinders so we can finally figure out if Scott Brooks is or is not the problem in OKC.

SINKER:

“Energy.”

I heard today that Dick Vitale will not be announcing the Duke-UNC game this week for the first time in 36 years.  That is disheartening to say the least.  Do I sometimes get tired of Dicky V tell me how great Duke is…sometimes when he is doing a totally separate game?  Yes.  But, is he also the guy who brings the memories, the energy, the character and the passion to the best rivalry in college basketball?  The answer is emphatically yes.
