Catch of the Day

One hook and one hook only…

THE DAY AFTER

They were both wildcards, so I guess an underdog technically won…but we know that is not true.  The underdog was the championship hurting Royals.  Saying the Giants were underdogs would be like the Pats actually finishing second in their division and being considered an underdog as a wildcard in the NFL playoffs.  Wouldn’t happen.  The Giants have now won 3 of 5 World Series.  That is coming strong.  They remind me of a early 2000’s Red Sox team in that you have a bunch of characters put together that somehow get it done.    The Panda had a hell of a farewell tour.  Hunter Pence’s stats would have won him MVP ANY other year.  I was FEELING history while watching Bumgarner pitch a gem again.  I never would have thought pitchers of the WINNING team would start and break records for shortest start of a generation.  I will ALWAYS wonder what would have happened if Gordon wasn’t stopped at third base.  Sure, you never talked about it beforehand as it was too unpredictable, but two outs, bottom of the ninth, against a stud you can’t hit, and a dropped/ kicked ball in the outfield?  You might as well have waved him home.  I will never know this as well as how the out pitch, up with heat, got the Royals SO many times during the series.  Anyway, great series, and now I can pay attention to the NBA again along with football.  And, I just noticed an email from Mr. Royal, which means a DOUBLE blog day again, people.  Enjoy.  Peace.
