Catch of the Day.

RIP, bro.

Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.

In no particular order of chronology or importance…

On the clock.  Not an airplane rant.  Afternoon rant.  Speed version.  Let’s turn and burn.

  1. Greetings and salutations, people.  Thanks for coming aboard (the boat).  Semi-speed version.   Too much going on with end of the sales month stuff this week, and I have plans for the weekend, so time is limited.
  2. First of all, George Karl, now would be a time to take up yoga. Breathe deeply.  Drink some bleach.  Whatever you have to do.  Bringing on Marshall Henderson I ASSUME was NOT on your priority list for this year.
  3. But, as obnoxious as the dude is, he CAN flat out ball. Talk about Vinnie Johnson with an attitude.  Points off the bench possibly galore.
  4. For his scoring, not the position or style…
  5. I still dislike him and do not support a team bringing him on. But, it is the Kings we are talking about, so who cares.
  6. Jordan Spieth shot a 74 yesterday. Don’t worry the wonder kid’s score did not bring an end to this world we live in.
  7. Been sad and nice revisiting Katrina after all of these years. I knew New Orleans well before, and well after.  From a city perspective, amazing recovery and it hopefully taught government entities to prepare better.  From a sports perspective, the Saints literally woke up that town and their victory in a Super Bowl made some of the best sports fans in the nation smile and yell a little.
  8. Years and years after UVA dismissed Ahmad Brooks from their team, and then he came back on the radar and was decent in the NFL, I see that he is back to being THAT guy again.
  9. I guess he is not Ray McDonald though.
  10. I love boxing. I am a fan of Rousey and Money.  But stop it, both of you.  Ronda, BIG supporter I am, but what you have done to this point is NOT what Floyd has done to this point.  You DID start a movement, sure, but he has taken people’s best for 48 straight times and not been beat.  Just because he outboxes them instead of taking them out is because it is two different sports.  One is called the “SWEET science.”
  11. I still like Nik Stauskas in the rain better, but this is pretty damn impressive too. Nice, Leah.  120 3’s in 5 minutes.  http://espn.go.com/espnw/athletes-life/the-buzz/article/13519101/watch-high-school-junior-leah-church-hit-120-3-pointers-five-minutes?ex_cid=espnFB
  12. I think they should have Troy Polamalu IN the first Beckham, Jr. Head and Shoulders commercial as kind of a pass off.
  13. I thought it was kind of dumb to let their football coach go before the start of the season, but after reading the article, I have new respect for Illinois and how they handle things.
  14. So much for my predicted comeback by the Mariners, and I guess ownership must read this blog and now has given up. They fired their GM today.
  15. Al Arbour, happy trails. Your FOUR Stanley Cups with the Isles were pretty dope.
  16. So, I was being told that it might be better news for Mr. Pouncey. So, I guess I need to re-examine my levels of news, as missing 10 games with your star center SUCKS.
  17. I guess I am just a little bitter still about Martavis Bryant, who will miss 4 games for PED’s. Overall, the Steelers will be good this year.  But with Bell being out, Bryant being out, Pouncey being out, and so on, the MANY weapons they have that MAKE them so dangerous now dip them quite a bit.
  18. Yes, I have been yelled at by my mom for Sunday’s tirade, in case you care. Not the content so much, but the cuss words.  I will be good.
  19. I can’t believe this Russell Wilson “water” story has been on the main page of the ESPN wire for two full days.
  20. For the first time in a couple years, I felt a feeling of joy about my Phils. Great article on ESPN.com talking about expiring contracts, what they got for their trades, their change of leadership, etc.  I am excited next year to be the 2016 Houston Astros.
  21. I know I am reaching.
  22. I don’t go on Facebook, so, friends, you are invited to Waterworld on September 7th. We did Labor Day last year, and it was FAR from as busy as you would think It would be.
  23. One of my favorite places ever.
  24. Darryl Dawkins died this week, and he is legend forever as not only being the first kid to jump successfully from high school to the NBA, but also probably the last vicious dunker to name his dunks. Happy trails, Chocolate Thunder.
  25. While I sit around waiting for the next Game of Thrones season, I find THESE types of articles VERY entertaining. http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/55dcbb45e4b04ae49704bcf3
  26. Usain Bolt getting run over/ under by a Segway until thinking that that ALMOST was one of the weirdest endings to a career we have ever seen.
  27. Moving to one sentence format. On a schedule.
  28. All the Bulls need now is for Derrick Rose to be healthy and STILL not be able to play-hope there is nothing to these accusations.
  29. I haven’t gotten over my Mets naysaying, and their schedule favors them nicely the rest of the year.
  30. Stay safe, Mom and Dad (they are out by Erika).
  31. I hadn’t seen my buddy, Hal, in 20 years, and it was FANTASTIC catching up with him…we talked about lots of stuff that we didn’t get to over camp fires in fields.
  32. Do Champions League playoffs go on all year…I am country, not club.
  33. I would be sad about no sports betting in NJ, but I am retired still and live in Denver.
  34. I am excited for the US Open to begin, because we surely can’t have two surprises like last year again in the men’s final.
  35. Give me Federer as I like the way he is playing, and Serena of course.
  36. Give me Sloane Stephens as my women’s underdog and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on the men’s side (for the 1000th Grand Slam in a row).
  37. Hate tennis moving forward, but if Serena gets into the Final, TUNE IN for the first calendar slam since 1988 and my girl Steffi Graf.
  38. Red Rocks movie night was fantastic this week, and I had forgotten how much of a QUALITY movie it is even though it came out of the 80’s.
  39. Still confused how Molly was the 80’s girl and OWNED us.
  40. Steve Sarkisian had a bad day, but what happens when he has to yell at the first kid for staying out too late or being drunk at a bar?
  41. I think Secrets The Vine will barely edge out Secrets Maroma Beach as our wedding site after Lindsey’s research.
  42. All time lists from the bar that one night with Vince and Walt are still on my person, but need to wait until another blog to post.
  43. Another day, and another 7-3 in their last 10 games by the Blue Jays, who suddenly have an offense too.
  44. College preview…another day.
  45. In the QB competition no one cares about, Hoyer gets the nod over Mallett.
  46. That’s it. Gotta go.  Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.
  47. Just a tagline. I most likely will be off the radar until Sunday.  Enjoy your weekend.  I will enjoy Winter Park.
