Brian Blogsworth. Boomer Sooner.

Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.

In no particular order of chronology or importance…

On the clock.  Not an airplane cast.  Afternoon rant.  Semi-speed version.  Let’s turn and burn.

  1. Greetings and salutations, people.  Thanks for coming aboard (the boat).  Semi-speed version as I have work to do, am tired, and just got home from the airport.  Let’s move.
  2. JJ.  Not really any pops.  Just a couple.  Long day yesterday.
  3. I know it was delayed, I don’t know if it is on, but can someone just TEXT me later if Jeff Gordon is in contention with a couple laps left? That would eliminate me watching people turn left before I am ready.
  4. More on the experience later, but I was at the OU-TCU game, momentum was ALL with TCU in their comeback, and can’t BELIEVE TCU went for two at the end of the game. There were almost a couple heart attacks in the stands when they lined up for that play though.
  5. Wow, Michigan State sure jacked up things, didn’t they? Now, the revised projections have them IN the playoff picture.  AND, things were SO much simpler before Oklahoma State lost Saturday, as one of the slots would just have been OU-OSU.  Clemson, Bama, and a big mess with the other two slots.
  6. I didn’t see the game as I was on a plane, but congrats to Broncos fans for sneaking by a dangerous Bears team at their crib with your backup QB. You will take that win ANY day of the week.  With John Fox and Jay Cutler on the other sideline, I assume everyone is happy in Denver.
  7. My objective to just bump into Billy Simms didn’t work out, but I did get THIS gem. Horrible photo taken by me as I was rushed, The Boz is not a very nice guy, but he looks GREAT in this photo.  LINDS BOZ
  8. I can make fun of him all I want.  Dude was a STUD on the field.
  9. Until Bo Jackson leveled him and changed life as we know it.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSjllemuOh0
  10. Norman, OK is full of knowledgeable football fans, but WOW are you in a tunnel. The Uber driver before the game told me the Heisman was Baker’s to lose, and I did NOT reply that he was probably still on the outside looking in and that there were OTHER conferences with actual football players.
  11. But, everyone knows their stuff I will say.
  12. I am watching the Vikings-Packers game, and not getting the feeling like the Vikings are really ready to step it up to another level. Vikes, you are playing your in division competition, and you are home.  Time to defend the crib.
  13. OU fans are very efficient when choosing when to stand and when to sit. Enthusiasm is there and then some, but everyone recognizes when to get some rest.
  14. I stayed at Sooners Legends, and it was amazing to see some of the photos all through the hallways. Low key bar with stellar karaoke, but we didn’t get there in time both nights to sing.  Sweet Child O Mine averted in Norman…for THIS trip.
  15. Way to confuse us further, Atlanta. You lose at your crib to a Colts team that is inconsistent AND without its starting QB.
  16. You too, Detroit and Oakland. I thought one was good and one was bad, but evidently that theory doesn’t hold water.
  17. There are less bathroom lines in Norman because the state I have noticed firmly believes in the trough system. MUCH faster.
  18. How Mr. Elliott from Ohio State could lose, throw his coaches under the bus, declare prematurely he is going pro, and ALL right before the big Michigan game…is beyond me.
  19. So, Florida and Georgia BOTH dropped games at home to directional schools. Well, Georgia Southern qualifies and let’s accept Florida Atlantic as trying to be directional in its name.
  20. AND, Notre Dame almost lost at home to BC. Their ugly win confuses things a bit more.
  21. AND the Citadel beat South Carolina at its crib. Damn, what a post game interview that would have been if the Old Ball Coach was still on those sidelines.
  22. By the way, you can’t even come back for SENIOR DAY, Mr. Spurrier??
  23. It may or may not be true that one of my weekend highlights was hearing the OU band open with the song Payphone by Maroon 5.
  24. I had a slight problem with that song back in the day. Listened to it for a week on repeat.
  25. Sorry once again to my peeps from the Crested Butte trip.  I couldn’t stop LISTENING to it.  SORRY.
  26. Damn, what a beautiful town that is, and probably one of my favorites in CO outside of Aspen.
  27. On the bucket list is to do the hike from Aspen, over the mountain into Crested Butte.  They are HOURS away by car because you have to drive around mountains and stuff.
  28. If anyone figures out the top to bottom pecking order of the Pac-12, please let me know via email.
  29. I am glad Cotto gave Alvarez a good run, and props to him. Alvarez WINNING though makes things cleaner at that weight in the boxing world.
  30. That is one GOOD looking dude.  Not sure how his heritage gave him that look, but he is the definition of a “face guy” who can only mess it up by talking.  Sigma Pi UVA terminology.
  31. I picked up Kansas City’s defense in both of my fantasy leagues, and they might just be my savior in both leagues for wins.
  32. I heard Heart’s Who Will You Run To at Louie’s in Norman (legendary bar and pretty cool to sit with ex-players in it), and I forgot how much I used to love that song.
  33. This was the time period I classify as “AFTER Heart was hot, but before they got HUGE.”
  34. Can Iowa football just go away? You all are making this very, very confusing for the CFP.
  35. Seriously, Iowa, what if you win out and then lose to Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship. What the HELL are we supposed to do THEN?
  36. When Lost Lettermen was debating where GameDay should be next week, he said that OSU and the other OSU losing and a couple other games made next week’s GameDay like “wet farts.”  LL-Capture
  37. I was watching some of the Michigan-Penn State game and really regret the one time I had a chance to attend Beaver Stadium, the largest attendance in college football I believe.
  38. I might want to play around with another blog format. If you have any ideas, shoot them over to me.  I am open.
  39. I am not blindsided by the UNC basketball loss to UNI. UNI is always experienced, UNC is not used to being “back” yet, and this is a minor blip on the big picture radar of winning a championship.
  40. But it IS kind of funny for anyone teasing me for UVA losing to GW.
  41. The Panthers winning over the Redskins tells me nothing. I am buying in to the Panthers, and I am glad the Kirk Cousins MVP debate is now closed.
  42. The Cousins comment is funny on a couple different levels that some readers may or may not be aware of. Let’s move on.
  43. The good news about this weekend is that Browns/ Buckeyes fans can’t lose on BOTH days of it since the Browns have a bye week.
  44. I seriously think that is the ONLY picture on the internet of Rob/ Ralph.
  45. There is some chick yelling at the Vikings-Packers game that needs to be tased immediately. If I can hear you cutting to commercial break, you are too loud.
  46. On editing, I can STILL hear her.
  47. How funny is the NFL this year. Romo comes back, the Cowboys stop themselves from losing EIGHT straight, and they are only two back for the division lead.  boys-Capture
  48. Some photos from the road.
  49. Photo before the game.  LINDS ME OU GAME BETTER
  50. Photo of Sooners Legends hallway.  SOONERS HALL
  51. LEGENDS SIGN OUTDOOR
  52. Photo of the Sooners Legends lobby.  LEGENDS LOBBY
  53. Lindsey on the main drag street she may or may not have been named after.  LINDS ON LINDS
  54. Scott Stadium at UVA wasn’t quite this big.  OU STADIUM INSIDE
  55. The man, Billy Simms.  Nice that OU has enough Heisman Trophy winners that they have a PARK/ ROW for all of them.  SIMMS STATUE
  56. I am not an expert on training facilities, but this one looks pretty sweet.  I just followed Lindsey’s dad’s friend in it as he played there.  OU TRAINING
  57. I will always stick with UVA being the prettiest campus/ grounds, but pretty cool campus at OU.  OU WATERTOWER
  58. The stadium before I went in.  OU STADIUM OUTSIDE
  59. UVA wouldn’t have tailgate stuff on their grass I can tell you.  OU TAILGATE CAMPUS
  60. This is one side of fun Asp street.  ASP STREET SOUTH SIDE
  61. And this is the other side.  ASP STREET OU
  62. And this is the Boomer sign in the middle, with Lindsey and a very cool customer photo bomb guy.  LINDS BOOMER SIGN
  63. That’s it. I am tired and need to get to my work before calling it an early night.  Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.
