Tie your shoe.

Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.

In no particular order of chronology or importance…

On the clock.  Not an airplane rant.  Evening rant.  Semi-speed version.  Let’s turn and burn.

  1. Greetings and salutations, people.  Thanks for coming aboard (the boat).  Quick hitter tonight.  Let’s get out two stories I am exhausted from first so I can enjoy writing the rest of the way.
  2. Kirk Cousins was announced as the starting QB for “2015” today. This RGIII thing is WEIRD and I don’t think he meant the III in his name as third string.  Whether you think Gruden is over RGII and being biased, are ignoring the stats that RGIII does post when he is healthy, you think somehow Colt McCoy should be higher on the depth chart than ANYONE, that RGII should be traded because of injury demotion, or that Dan Snyder is protecting Griffin since he writes the checks, the whole story is just weird.
  3. Trade the guy and give you and him a fresh start.
  4. So, there is no settlement, and on Friday the judgement is out for Brady and Deflategate? Then, we just have about three weeks of over-analyzing the decision before it is over.
  5. I think Bills fans were excited all three QB’s looked good in preseason, but I assume MOST of them didn’t predict that the guy with NO games at starter ever would be chosen.  That D better be even better than we are predicting.
  6. Kind of like it that Urban Meyer won’t give up his starting QB yet. That will make the VA Tech a little more exciting before the game begins.
  7. I am pretty sure we all knew that Everett Golson would be named the starting QB at FSU.
  8. Serena won the first eight games before her opponent retired due to injury. Injury or not, FIVE points won in the first set is just plain ole bad.  Maybe you should have called that trainer out a little earlier.  Watching those service highlights was just boring.
  9. Trent Richardson just got cut while I am writing this. Pretty sure if you can’t make the Raiders after like 4 other tries on teams, you are not making it anywhere.  Dude went #3 overall in the ENTIRE draft and is healthy.  Sad.
  10. The no hitter by Arrieta was dope. The fact that it is with a team that is losing team that is enjoying winning these days is fantastic.  The fact that the Dodgers have been a no hit victim twice in 10 days is just plain scary.
  11. I know I say preseason football is televised practice, but I admit to possibly jumping at Sam Bradford in one of my fantasy leagues. That offense is looking pretty stellar.
  12. Like every normal football fan, I don’t remember any trade involving a kicker I got excited for. Might be a first today.  The Steelers lost their second kicker in the last game and traded for Josh Scobee this week.  Like it.  My buddy, Logan, just texted me “at what point does being a Steelers kicker get put on the show Dangerous Jobs?”
  13. If you want to get pumped up for the NFL season today, read Peter King’s MMQB on SI, as I thoroughly enjoyed it today since Game 3 is sort of the dress rehearsal. Great stuff as always.
  14. If you want to get pumped for the college football season today, read the Flipping the Field article on ESPN today. Noted in the article and predictions are THESE crazy facts.  ftf Capture
  15. The one good thing about the Jaguars is Julius Thomas, and you are telling me he will miss time due to injury?
  16. Not the encore he was looking for. Kei Nishikori was one of the two underdog finalists last year in the US Open.  He lost today to powerful, Benoit Paire.  THAT Benoit Paire.  You know…
  17. Just kidding. Paire is a nobody, so Nishikori should be embarrassed a little.  Paire has had two third round showings in Grand Slams, and has zero singles or doubles titles to his credit.
  18. Ana Ivanovic lost also today. I had to Google it to double check my memory, but she was #1 in 2008 and has had one of the most inconsistent careers of all tennis players.
  19. I like posting my thoughts on Twitter, but don’t think I will order a pizza on it even though apparently now I can.
  20. I really wish Maria Sharapova wouldn’t have withdrawn. Would have been an epic showdown with her and Serena, with one woman owning the rivalry, but the other having the chance to derail history.
  21. Bourne Ultimatum was on last night, meaning I lost another hour or two of my life.  I seriously love that opening 30 minutes more than anything, before they know that Bourne is helping the reporter.
  22. That’s it. Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.
