The beginning of the end…

palisade-Capture

Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.

In no particular order of chronology or importance…

On the clock.  Day rant.  Speed version.  Let’s turn and burn.

1)       Greetings and salutations, people.  Thanks for joining me.  Hoping this speed version isn’t as bad as Aaron Craft’s jumper looks at the NBA combine this week.

2)      I tried to read the article about Andre Johnson maybe not wanting back with the Texans.  All I REALLY read was “Filler-do NOT pick him up on your fantasy team for the millionth time in a row.”

3)      Stan Van Gundy landed in Detroit.  He gets control.  THAT is the advantage of his choice.

4)      Steve Kerr landed in Golden State.  He gets a playoff team.  THAT is the advantage of his choice.

5)      The Knicks landed no one thus far.  No one gets a bad team.  Phil Jackson can coach his own team.  THAT is the ONLY advantage of his choice.

6)      Read whatever story you want on who was the aggressor in the Greg Hardy thing.  My hook is this.  When you have a “couch covered with assault weapons and/or shotguns” at your home,  it is never a good thing and can’t really end RIGHT.

7)      I hope Michael Sam gets lots of media coverage and documentaries.  I DO hope he doesn’t do ANYTHING for that coverage until AFTER he makes the team.  You are a seventh rounder.  Concentrate on making the team FIRST.  Give Oprah her shit later.

8)      The Browns have limited media and fan coverage to Browns minicamp, meaning some idiot will be renting out a plane any day now.

9)      Note to self:  If I go to the Shake Shack at Citi Field, ask for a well done burger.  Noted.

9a)  Or just don’t go to Shake Shack I suppose.

10)   I think the Pacers are conducting a worldwide psychology experiment.  They HAVE to be.  Getting beat at home is one thing.  Getting pummeled at home and outrebounded the way they did shows NO effort.  I have them in the Finals, but are starting to dislike them too.

10a)  Larry’s look in the stands made me want to go back and watch a mid 80’s NBA game.  THOSE were games.

11)   I would have easily said that the Rangers OR the Habs.  I would NOT have said the Rangers AND the Habs.  Crazy.  They are printing out trade rumor sheets and pink slips in mass right now in Pittsburgh.  Chicago is salivating.

12)   With Godzilla being released today and Russell Westbrook doing what he did the other night, you HAVE to check out THIS clip.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ww2Faxmcsxw

13)   What’s amazing about Bridgewater not wanting the Browns is that the Browns didn’t want him either.  How convenient.  Stop talking to the press, rookie.  Go play ball.

14)   I love Stephen Colbert.  LOVE the guy.  Well done response on the whole Michael Sam thing.  http://extramustard.si.com/2014/05/13/stephen-colbert-michael-sam/

15)   I am not amazed about the Tyler Sash thing getting out to the media.  I am more amazed that once again Deadspin beat EVERYONE to the story.  http://deadspin.com/former-new-york-giant-flees-on-scooter-from-police-get-1576003828

16)   So…Edge of Tomorrow is Groundhog Day with a war?  Is that correct?  I guess Tom Cruise is really loading up for quality in his NEXT role, correct?

17)   Sorry if I am repeating myself.  I LOVE the “wired” parts of NBA games.  Heard it again last night.  “Get those rebounds!”  “Play better D.”  “Get better shots!”  “Now that I am done stating the obvious, go get them.”

18)   I think Steven Adams A) should have stayed at Pittsburgh for another year or two B) will eventually be a sick, sick player.

19)   The Jazz are calling John Stockton.  I am just amazed it has taken this long.

20)   Clever.  The ACC might be setting up non conference games…against themselves.  Like it.

21)   Kevin Ollie.  We get it.  You are “listening” to job offers.  Just don’t HEAR them.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HauMNRzhyJQ

22)   Tanaka had his first shutout, and you better believe it won’t be his last.  Dude can toss it.

23)   Except for an occasional 5 minutes per game, I never believed while watching that the Nets would give them a good run.  I was HOPING to be wrong.  But still, I can’t tell if Miami flipped the switch or if it just because it is the East.

24)   Don’t worry, Portland.  You guys are young.  That is the positive spin.  I hear Duncan only plans on playing another 6 years or so.  You will just be hitting your post prime by then.

25)   Props to Boise State for not only not caring what roots a recruit comes from and judging them, but also fighting to help out the ones that end up homeless.

25a)  I meant that as funny, but it sounded sincere.  Didn’t mean it.

26)   AJ McCarron was told he was cocky during interviews.  Screw arm strength.  He has a model woman and 2 national championships.  I hereby say he CAN be cocky.

27)   The words “Trout” and “slump” this early in the season should NOT be in the same article about whether pitchers have “figured him out.”  Bullshit.  A few weeks doesn’t NOT make him the best player in the game.

28)   Who is Case Cochran and why should you care?  If he does anything at the Byron Nelson event, he qualified with a hole in one in sudden death.  That is pretty badass.

29)   I would like to wish California Chrome, inside post, cough, blisters, and all, good luck…because I personally want to see another butt-kicking.

30)   So, Eli is saying Peyton stole “Omaha.”  Dude.  You have rookies coming in, we know you all sucked last year, and we know your two ring thing is getting old with the bro, but leave Omaha alone.  Evidently, you pick the wrong cities to yell out.  Deal with it.

31)   The Cavs are asking about Calipari.  Boy, is THAT town trying to steal all the press.

32)   Finally, and this can’t be overstated, I am a little nervous.  I am ridiculously afraid of bees , wasps, and hornets.  First there were the Africanized ones.  Ok.  I was tracking them.  Now, we have Africanized ones with European tendencies, meaning snow and cold might not bother them.  This is the beginning of the end.  Or at least MY end.  They are now in CO.  They have found me.  http://www.nbc11news.com/home/headlines/Killer-bees-found-in-Palisade-259149561.html

33)   That is it.  Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
