Catch Of The Day

Still #1…

Thoughts for the day…

  1. Greetings and salutations, people.  Thanks for coming aboard (the boat).  I have been out of pocket the last few days, and therefore have a number of things to say, so let’s do this quick hitter style.  One single sentence per hook.  Let’s move.
  2. I am pretty tired, so forgive any lack of energy or humor.
  3. Not only am I not watching the Pro Bowl, but like not even for one single second…not even a flipper.
  4. Classy is Jim Irsay calling all of the other candidates who didn’t get the job once he made the GM decision.
  5. Classy is James Harden signing autographs after his game tonight after going 3-17 and having a plus/ minus of -22.
  6. Frank Thomas, I know you are famous and have a better mic, but pretty sure we all feel the same way on Bonds and Clemens…it is what it is.
  7. It is pretty mind blowing that LeBron has scored 20,000 points JUST with Cleveland even with his years away in Miami.
  8. Taking off the shoes kind of ruins the jump in the lake mystique, man.  http://deadspin.com/idiot-on-the-golf-course-takes-off-shoes-jumps-in-wate-1791752945
  9. Sure, it doesn’t tell us how MANY times this was attempted, but kicking a 50 yard field goal into a basketball hoop IS cool regardless.  http://deadspin.com/justin-tucker-nails-field-goal-through-basketball-hoop-1791757643
  10. I was going to come home without looking online and watch the UVA-Villanova game, but four hours on the road today was exhausting, so I therefore just read the depressing details of being up 12 with 10 minutes to go and then not blocking out a guy with a last minute game winning tip.
  11. Hey, Sooners, what I saw was NOT the best way to move those Big 12 trophies so we get how you broke one.
  12. I can’t keep up with this McGregor-Mayweather fight stuff and am tired of pump fakes, so just let me know when it is a done deal, ok?
  13. I was doing stuff worth missing a great game, and not surprised Josh Jackson did his thing with flying colors in front of the 25 teams represented by scouts, but definitely was surprised that Adebayo did NOT do his against what many think is a weak KU frontcourt.
  14. Hot tubs up on that Glenwood to Aspen corridor with snow all around just feel BETTER.
  15. Chalk up another use for my personal use Google Doc as I have decided to just have the list of songs I POSSIBLY could do karaoke to eliminate recreating the list every single time.
  16. I wouldn’t just let a hat go easily except MAYBE if this happened.  http://theconcourse.deadspin.com/whose-hat-my-hat-1791711130
  17. Solid win for the Cuse Saturday against a quality FSU team, but did I hear right that they STORMED the court?
  18. And figures I pump you all up on FSU and then they gets SMOKED by a bad Georgia Tech team, and then lose to the Cuse.
  19. That would be an illegal storm if that is what happened…at home with a championship against a 5th ranked team.
  20. In my opinion, Parsons and McCollum aren’t quite good enough for me to care about their Twitter war.
  21. Going to start sprinkling in some Aspen-X Games stuff also…just a heads up.
  22. How have I never seen the Family Guy with Gronk up until Wednesday night?
  23. I need more hours in the day of course, but really feel like I missed out by not keeping up with South Park over the years.
  24. I think the 4 U.S. cities I literally get a rush from just being within city limits are San Diego, New Orleans, Aspen, and maybe Vegas to a certain degree.
  25. We kind of knew that Serena would win the other night, but probably most of us were hoping and rooting for an old woman Venus Williams miracle.
  26. Utterly amazing Federer won a Grand Slam when he is turning 36 this year, but Nadal will be fine as HIS tournament is next on the calendar, and he will want vengeance for not doing it last year in France.
  27. I tried to stay up and watch that match, but it was just too long of a day.
  28. I think we are getting close to the end of the magical Bryan/ Bryan doubles run…lost to a couple of youngsters and Father Time is ticking.
  29. Hawks-Knicks went to four overtimes, meaning the Knicks still find new and creative ways to lose.
  30. I probably won’t do it yet, and maybe not at all, but sometimes think that if this thing gets bigger that I will have a public viewing mechanism for my blog list…not yet though.
  31. Strategy seems reckless when you are WAY over the salary cap, have lost some games, and have your best player saying you need more. #cavs
  32. I love my 4Runner so much, and nice to have another road trip under its belt.
  33. If you stay in Glenwood Springs, I think you get the bang for your buck at the Antlers Best Western (with a walk-in shower), like K Seas bar, and would definitely tell you to hit up Iron Mountain Hot Springs during the day.
  34. Walk-in showers are EXTREMELY important to me.
  35. Of course, you already know I am the biggest advocate of Adventure Park up that way, but we didn’t have the bandwidth to hit that up this time.
  36. And know that Adventure Park is building a NEW ride.  http://www.postindependent.com/news/business/unique-haunted-mine-thrill-ride-coming-to-glenwood-caverns-adventure-park/
  37. Love that Coach K did it, but how do the players get ready for games and practice when they can’t get into the locker room?
  38. Do they just wear their gear to the facility and just start playing?
  39. Love your style, Kirk Cousins, but I think you should be fighting a possible franchise tag a little more if you ask me…don’t be such a nice guy.
  40. I don’t know about you, but I personally am sad Zach LaVine won’t be in the dunk contest.
  41. If the Clips try and get Melo without touching their Big Three, are they just going to play 3 on 5 moving forward?
  42. Definitely need a third team in THAT deal…
  43. They had some food out after our sales meeting Thursday, and I want to know WHEN proscuitto got magically paired with asparagus (I just slipped off the asparagus and trashed it and ate the proscuitto).
  44. I stopped myself from eating more than the 15 deviled eggs I ate.
  45. I sang karaoke the other night of course, and learned that A) I can no longer hit Warrant’s Uncle Tom’s Cabin but am proud I USED to be able to hit those ridiculous notes B) reading the screen during my favorite rap song, Regulate, is NOT a good idea C) that going to my money song, Sweet Child, allowed me to leave on a good note.
  46. I admit to spraining my ankle during the first air guitar solo on Sweet Child…karaoke injury…lol.
  47. I have Morgan Freeman/ Sean Connery written on my blog list, but don’t remember where I was going with it…moving on.
  48. I was unable to come up with any Kanter-chair-arm jokes.
  49. I hope Wade is practicing right now late into the night…what a media filled week HE is having.
  50. I was really sad that Square Grouper was closed…loved that bar.
  51. I had a burger at Justice Snow’s, it lived up to the billing I have put on it yet once again, and will keep on shouting from the mountain tops that it is the best burger in Colorado.
  52. Oh, and they DO have happy hour also on Saturday…nice.
  53. Ten Things by Zach Lowe is a must read NBA article as I have told you many, many times.
  54. El Yucateca is a very, very potent hot sauce…I admit to being drenched in sweat eating my chipotle chicken at Tequila’s in Glenwood with it on there.
  55. We stayed at Element in Basalt, and Starwood properties are just weird to me…all aesthetic with no practicality.
  56. I wore more clothing layers on Friday and Saturday nights for the X Games and concert than I have worn in a LONG time.
  57. Did they actually play DODGEBALL during the NFL skills competition??????
  58. The fact that there were 52 rapes at Baylor during that time period is horrible, but reading ABOUT a couple of them on public record was brutal…
  59. I have said the term forever, and when someone uses the term “Aspeny” with you, I originated it.
  60. …not that putting a “y” at the end of the city’s name was like splitting the atom.
  61. Not sure if you care, but the Sixers have a plus .500 record in January…
  62. I never change people’s names in my phone, including my wife, and kind of funny how I have some people listed in there.
  63. I don’t think Steph Curry understands that he supposed to get the flu FIRST, and THEN score 43 points.
  64. Bassnectar blew me away on Friday, and I would definitely see them again.
  65. Chainsmokers blew me away also, and I definitely haven’t ever listened to any other songs of their aside from the popular one that we included in our wedding last year…bad ASS show.
  66. A mosh pit ALMOST formed during Chainsmokers…pretty close.
  67. My one big oversight of the weekend was missing the snowmobiling tricks event…We expected a slower start to it, planned on arriving about 20 minutes into it, but that thing started early, went fast as HELL, and was over right when we got there.
  68. Duke DOES know they came back against WAKE, right??????
  69. My wife is probably right to a degree that I don’t need to talk to EVERYONE when at an event…lol…need to split the difference.
  70. X Games was dry amazingly, and the security the first day was tougher than an airport, and the second day they barely even LOOKED in my backpack.
  71. Sad we didn’t make it to Carl’s Pharmacy this trip…the store with things piling onto the floor, and basically has ANYTHING you can think of in the entire world that is less than $20.
  72. Wait…I am just now back in town and the loop, but did Damian Lillard REALLY get left off the NBA All Star team????
  73. That would just be WRONG.
  74. Stage at Chainsmokers…
  75. X Games venue.
  76. This is that hot sauce I referenced.
  77. View from Iron Mountain Hot Springs.
  78. This is a guy parachuting in on Friday night.
  79. Bassnectar.
  80. Aspen…the hub.
  81. Chainsmokers…
  82. Pics from Justice Snow’s.
  83. That’s it for today.  Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Onward and upward.  Peace.
