So glad college football is back…

No catch of the day hook, line, sinker organization today.  No prelim telling you how long, whether I am on an airplane, etc.  College football is BACK, and although I am not going anywhere, this is a speed version because I am talking to you from my couch in front of the TCU-Minnesota game and I need to get back to the FOOTBALL game.

  1. Greetings and salutations, people.  SOOOOOO glad football is back.  Did I say that already?    Let’s cruise through this.  One sentence form today.  I should have plenty of material and time over the weekend for elongating my hooks.
  2. It is the end of the first quarter, we all felt like Minnesota needed to start fast in this game, they stopped TCU for a field goal, turned over the ball, TCU scored again, and it is getting away from them a little already.
  3. The South Carolina-UNC game was exactly what I thought it would be-sloppily played game between a building up program against an ALMOST premier program a couple years ago going down slowly.
  4. If Steve Spurrier retires after this year, can we still interview him at random times in life?
  5. If you care, and you should, Clayton Kershaw has a 1.02 ERA since the All Star break.
  6. Lindsey gets mad at me for making her rinse dishes to soak them before washing like I was taught when I was a kid, and she somehow found an article that says this is a bad thing.
  7. So, the LeSean McCoy injury update media coverage is getting started before the regular season?
  8. Am I wrong for hoping the “gun” and “Dwight Howard” story at the airport was worse?
  9. I promised, Marty, a Husker update every day in my blog, so the update today is that his new Husker coach, Mile Riley, is being sued for a sexually violent culture at OSU.
  10. I chose that one oddly instead of googling info on Lawrence doing SOMETHING, ANYTHING wrong in prison.
  11. It was just Alcorn State, sure, but Georgia Tech is going to pummel lesser and good teams this year with that triple option that now has ALL of the position players and talent it needs to run it.
  12. This is a football day, but glad to see the big names like Murray (in 5 after dropping first 2), Azarenka, Halep, Federer, Wawrinka, and MR. ISNER (yes) advancing.
  13. Federer destroyed his guy, is my choice for this US Open, and might be playing as well as he was like 5 years ago.
  14. It will most likely turn around, but Harbaugh is presently losing to Utah.
  15. Yes, Mr. Hardy, I would appeal your stuff too now.
  16. Oh, on the Brady thing, I only have one sentence, we knew something was weird since it took so long, it is a joyful punch into Goodell’s gut, and I am only sad it wasn’t reduced to ONE game.
  17. Steelers, up and Adam, as you get Mr. Brady.
  18. And apparently the seat that Goodell was going to sit in at the game is now vacant.
  19. Speaking of the Pats, Baxter (colleague and diehard Pats fan) walked by a conference room downstairs at lunchtime and apologized for interrupting me when I was in my blog zone.
  20. The sign is a folded up piece of legal paper…anywhere around me.
  21. Love that Jason Day credits him getting over the hump in golf to Tiger, as I bet you a LOT of guys on tour would thank him, whether it was something he said to them, or something he did during his reign.
  22. I see Rutgers athletics had another great day.
  23. Owner of American Pharoah…go let that dude sit in a pasture and take care of business with the ladies in the barn…stop racing him.
  24. He accomplished the greatest thing in the last 30 plus years of horse racing, so I believe he has done his part.
  25. I am proud to say that the restaurant Steuben’s, about two blocks from our house, was ranked in the top 21 nationally of best mac and cheese.
  26. It IS pretty damn good.
  27. That’s it. I want to get back to this second quarter as Minnesota just got the ball back down 10-0.  Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.
