Catch Of The Day

Should be a good one…take two.

Thoughts for the day…very QUICK thoughts as we are approaching game time.

  1.  11 minutes until kickoff…got to MOVE.
  2. Hey, Meryl Streep.  I live on ESPN.com to NOT hear anything from you.  I despise you, but despise you more when your comments invade the sports wire.  Go away.
  3. I like what the Jags did.  They kept the younger coach who finished the season, and made Coughlin a VP.  Coughlin LOOKS more like a VP than a coach at his age.  Marrone will do great I think.
  4. The Pats are the biggest playoff favorite since 1998.  Interesting, and I don’t have time to go into it today.  The big thing against Brady is that he missed 4 games.  Montana won the MVP in 1989 while missing 3 games.  Look at the stats of both.  Brady’s are slightly inferior to Montana that year.  My vote still goes toward Matt Ryan personally, but Brady at least made it fun.
  5. Peyton Manning just said something funny on pregame.  He said “football doesn’t OWE you anything,” talking about he assumes Bama ALSO watched last year’s film and is still pretty damn good.
  6. I guess Joey Porter assumes the Steelers won’t get lucky and host the Texans in Pittsburgh, so just wanted to have one more big Pittsburgh blowout.
  7. Are we sure that OBJ and Porter didn’t hang out TOGETHER?  What?  Oh, yeah.  Porter was almost done getting arrested at the end of the Giants game.  That would be logistically impossible.
  8. He is the outside linebacker coach.  We will be fine.
  9. I so love reading MMQB on Mondays.  Peter King writes a GREAT article every week.
  10. Still not sure why Big Ben was in the game that late.
  11. Mike Dunleavy has now reported to the Hawks, so we can now go back to our normal lives.  Thanks, Mike.
  12. Glad UVA basketball got back to winning ways.  That being said, 62 points is WAY too many against a weak team like Wake.
  13. I initially had Green Bay beating Dallas before I changed it last minute.  Green Bay is on a tear, and on a slight underdog collision course with Pittsburgh.  But, that is too perfect.  Let’s remember the Dallas rookies earned home field advantage and that will help, and let’s not forget how amazing that offensive line is of theirs.  If they can establish the run game and keep Rodgers off the field, then they will win at home.
  14. Nice run by the Giants though.  They have the building blocks on defense now.
  15. Mark 2.0.2.  Saying it like it is a software update and about 5 people understand what I mean.
  16. Sam’s Club, Hoban and Golden Tee tales from yesterday will be told tomorrow.  Game is about to kick off.
  17. Final prediction.  I have Clemson 27-24.  It will be a great game.  The Kiffin-Sarkisian thing is important with a freshman QB, and I think Clemson keeps Watson upright enough to make some big plays.  They are a little smaller than Bama, but have the athletes to match up with them.
  18. That’s it for today.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
