Catch Of The Day

R.I.P., Princess.

Thoughts for the day…

  1. Rex Ryan was fired today. Here is my take on this.  First, he kind of deserves it as his sample size is now large enough and he is 61-66 overall as a coach for the Jets and Bills.  And, if you are going to be as brash as Rex is, then you better be winning.  And, if you are bringing aboard your brother, make sure the reason is clear why you did so.  But, there is another side to this coin.  First, the Bills are pretty competitive each week.  They are playing for their coach and simply lack enough weapons.  Second, you signed him to a five year contract.  This was year two.  Doesn’t anyone at least give someone the MAJORITY of years they signed him for these days?  Tired of it.  I would have MINIMALLY given him one more year.  It’s not like Buffalo wasn’t playoff starved BEFORE his dismissal.  I can’t believe I am getting Rex’s back, but I feel like this was too early.
  2. A Broncos Twitter handle today was a little premature. The Bills are not sitting because they don’t trust them as their starter.  They are sitting him because of contractual/ health/ guaranteed items, because the game means nothing, and because Mariota and Carr going down last week scared everyone.
  3. No intern for a while yet. Sorry for any grammatical errors.
  4. Getting very excited to be in my #2 U.S. city next weekend…New Orleans never sucks, and I can’t imagine NYE being a drag.
  5. This year would be BRUTAL for Lions fans if they don’t get in after being in control for most of the season.   From what I understand, if they lose and the Skins win, then the Lions are out.  That might hurt more than their 2014 0-16 season.  I will be rooting for them, but the fact that the next game is against the hottest team in the league does NOT bode well.
  6. After the Cowboys return home next week after a meaningless last game, they don’t need to leave the state of Texas at ALL for this year.
  7. You think whatever, but after their meaningless game vs. the Browns next week, the Steelers possibly play two QB-less teams to open the playoffs, Ben will NOT be scared to go to Foxboro, and the best team on the other side is the youngest team. Things in my mind line up very nicely at this point.
  8. Lindsey sometimes makes the mistake of putting Forrest Gump on television, and I lost about 35 minutes of sleep last night because I wanted to see the Running On Empty scene.   That movie just SUCKS me in.
  9. I get playing media games, but if I am a Clemson DB, I wouldn’t PROACTIVELY piss off JT Barrrett. That’s just me though.
  10. LOVED the clever response from Tomlin on Bradshaw. The Henderson dig was subtle, yet effective.  A.T.
  11. My friends said Passengers wasn’t a bad movie, but I think they are lying and just don’t want to admit I was right.
  12. Apparently, I missed a big discussion when at the gym about waffles vs. pancakes.  It is pretty elaborate how they broke it down.  For the record, I am neither a waffle or pancake person anymore because I think I had my life’s fill of maple syrup when I was a kid, but IF I still ate either, it would be WAFFLES by a landslide.
  13. And, Carrie Fisher died officially this morning. I was hitting prime time kid age when Star Wars came out, so obviously that is where my memory starts and stops of her.  It was such an overwhelming character that she almost COULDN’T play anyone else even if she wanted to.  Let’s face it.  The only person to get out of that movie was Harrison Ford.  ANYWAY, thoughts and prayers to her family, and I can’t wait to move into 2017…since 2016 has NOT been nice on the item of celebrity stars and sports icons dying. We have lost so many great people this year.
  14. And VERY clever newspaper headline and picture, Cleveland. Well done!
  15. I am trying to pay attention to these other 38,000 bowl games…but I can’t.
  16. That’s it for today. Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.
