Midday Friday thoughts of The Masters…

I mean I HAVE to show his picture, right?  He is owning it presently.

Quick hitter.  All Masters, all the time.

-Jordan Spieth is presently 13 under overall after 13 holes today.  I knew this kid had talent and would win his share.  I didn’t think he would start pulling a 1997 Tiger Woods on THIS course.  Slow down, kid.  I don’t want to see the final 18 holes on Sunday  on my couch as a simple processional.

-Mike Weir is still drunk evidently (14 over and counting).

-Ben Crenshaw is still old ()21 over and counting).

Thomas Bjorn waiting until ON the course to start drinking (7 over today).

-I see that three of the amateurs are just hanging out together (13 over).

-Camilo peaked at second yesterday and apparently really got tired from his putting pose.

-The Masters cut is the top 50 players plus anyone within ten of the top score.  There will be no more than 50 players this year evidently.

-My personal team outside of Jason Day has decided to hover at the cut line.

-I guess Jim Furyk has decided to barely make the cut and THEN do his normal Majors thing.

-Whenever I want to smile, I think about Jason Dufner leaning against that wall that one time.

-Sergio Garcia evidently made a run to near the top of the leaderboard, walked by Jordan’s score, and said screw it.

-I see many of the prime time guys where they SHOULD be at -1, -2 right now, but Spieth is jacking up that perennial system.

-It is nice to see Tiger playing decently.  We aren’t looking for a win, but just improvement.

-I see that Angel Cabrera is just doing his thing…chilling at -3 before the weekend and in the clubhouse already…watching what the hell Spieth is doing.

-Ernie Els finished OPTIMALLY for most years and still is 8 strokes back.

MISCELLANEOUS:

I am really, really mad at Sefolosha if I am his Hawks teammates.  There is plenty of time for clubs after the playoffs, and broken legs don’t clamp down on the other team’s best player.

Stephen Curry might be the most fun player to watch in the last ten years.

Troy Polamalu is bowing out gracefully and still one of the best ever at his position.  Think of him like a classy Allen Iverson.  He did special things in his prime, and he is now ordinary because he has lost a step.  Go see your family, and once a Steeler and always a Steeler you will always be.

SO sad about Lauren Hill.  Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Sam Dekker is going pro at the right time, when his stock is highest, but we will always wonder what he would have done with a team that would have been HIS and his only.

Thoughts and prayers also to Fred Hoiberg, one of the youngest coaches and someone we would never expect to be undergoing open heart surgery.

That is it.  Gotta go.  Talk to you this weekend in front of one of the best sporting events ever.  Peace.
