Catch Of The Day

Hoos Elite you ask?

Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.

In no particular order of chronology or importance…

On the clock.  Not an airplane cast.  Friday evening cast.  SUPER-speed version.  Let’s turn and burn.

  1. Greetings and salutations, people.  This is an ULTRA Super-speed version since there is basketball on.  Writing this after UVA game and during commercials of second round of games.  Too much going on.  These might be short sentences.  One sentence per hook.  If this is your first read of the blog, know I usually say more but the tourney overrides verbiage.  Come back another time if you want deep thoughts.
  2. Marty, no prizes so stop reading.
  3. Some might view Dunleavy going to Tulane as a step back, but I view it as an NBA coach wanting to spend the last few years of his career TEACHING kids who will listen.
  4. STOP talking, analyzing, or thinking about the LeBron “super team,” and stop telling us your super team ideas, LeBron.
  5. I get a lack of sports stories, but why do I care what Aaron Hernandez’s house is selling for?
  6. Well, I guess I DO care that Von Miller took a helicopter to the A&M game, and I would love a helicopter to be honest.
  7. My quick and dirty thoughts on the UVA game.
  8. The pace actually favored ISU, but once again UVA proves it can beat low and high scoring teams.
  9. We are winning the whole thing, folks.
  10. I was semi bothered that the great UVA defense couldn’t stop Niang, and that switching Brogdon on him didn’t even work because of size delta.
  11. Mike Tobey, this blog’s for you.
  12. We got SCREWED playing Chicago as a #1 seed as there were a LOT of ISU fans there.
  13. UVA fouling more than usual at the beginning of the second half helped the mini ISU comeback.
  14. ISU actually didn’t shoot horribly amazingly for getting beaten decisively.
  15. It is SOOOO hard to come back on UVA.
  16. ISU had a chance when UVA went cold, but didn’t capitalize.
  17. Glad the ISU cheerleader is OK who got SMOKED by a kicked ball.
  18. Look at the delta in the paint between the two teams.
  19. PLEASE play the late game on Easter, UVA, as it will help my negotiations about Easter dinner at Lindsey’s…LATE GAME.
  20. Ok, Wahoowa, and on to other things you may or may not care about.
  21. The one page article in the last SI with stats of UCONN’s Breanna Stewart is…mind blowing.
  22. Way to take the blame, coach (Altman)-you are still getting run by OU next round, WHOEVER was not classy on your team.
  23. Great that the two teams I have not believed in (Oregon and Nova) are still in the tourney and playing well…dammit.
  24. Stop showing Masters commercials, CBS, as I will be on a work trip in Cancun and will be missing my golf watching couch.
  25. Ok, maybe not as much “missing”…but yes I will be…golf junkie.
  26. Lindsey brought home Qdoba tonight, and I eat the same thing every time there like I have eaten the 2 cheeseburger meal for 40 years at McDonald’s…never will change those orders.
  27. Watching this finale of Wisconsin and Notre Dame…looks like I missed a defensive masterpiece/sloppy game coming down to wire.
  28. They keep showing that commercial playing the Buffalo Stance song, and I remember buying the single tape of that song and playing it like 1000 times in a row.
  29. Every time we doubt the committee, the picks seem to back them up…dammit.
  30. I am SO interested to see the classic Cuse 2-3 zone against the HUGE Zags.
  31. Holy smokes, I hope everyone is catching the end of this Wisco-ND game.
  32. I love how I always write this while I think you are reading it at the same time…maybe someday with new WordPress technology.
  33. Wow, Wisconsin just blew the end of that game.
  34. The Huskers got Keyshawn’s son, and I will be on the edge of my seat just waiting to see how they use such a possession receiver son weapon.
  35. I actually don’t remember the last time I cared about a Husker WR…Irving Fryar is the one that comes to mind, and maybe if we include wingbacks in the conversation I believe we have Rodgers and Purify.
  36. There is an actual article on ESPN about how the Broncos can win the Super Bowl with Markz Sanchez, and it was NOT written by Trent Dilfer.
  37. I think the guy was a decent coach and guy, but Georgia Tech has been down for a while after being good for a while, so I get the change at bball coach.
  38. Another reason good to be out of Vegas-I would have lost three of four games last night, and probably gone heavy on all of them.
  39. Duke will be good again next year, but amazing, even with injuries, to see such a high recruiting school gets absolutely BEATEN DOWN athletically.
  40. Maryland is bipolar, and we saw the lower end of that bipolarism last night.
  41. When they are bad, they are BAD.
  42. Yes, I called MD to beat KU on my blog, but you try and make bold predictions publicly regularly…tough and you miss some.
  43. NEVER thought a senior and junior laden Miami squad would lay down like they did last night.
  44. I will NOT admit that Nova is that good.
  45. RG-CLE…clever.
  46. I get loyalty to coaches, but RGIII DOES know the Browns aren’t one of the NFL teams moving cities, right?
  47. One of my favorite stories of the week was hearing that the parents of the A&M kid who tied the game in that historic comeback LEFT THE GAME EARLY.
  48. Yeah, like you can’t stay an extra 30 minutes being a dentist.
  49. I am in a smaller bracket pool and thought I would be alone with UVA over OU-some jackass has the same thing and our difference in score will be like one point or a tiebreaker.
  50. The movie Criminal really, really intrigues me.
  51. And for the 40th time, Superman would beat the HELL out of Batman because he is FROM OUTER SPACE.
  52. There is honestly something wrong with you if you don’t read FiveThirtyEight.
  53. I asked Eleanor for two more starts with a successful drive home, and then it is their problem, and she made it…bye, girl.
  54. When did college teams have these catchy slogans on their jerseys like “always reppin’” or “made in march” and how did UVA and ISU have the same freaking slogan.
  55. Alright, UNC…you win and I still have three entries in my knockout pool.
  56. And my buddy, Ben, loses his very confused pick of the Hoosiers winning it all.
  57. He used to read this thing-faded away like MD vs. KU.
  58. Listening to Charles Barkley talk about COLLEGE basketball is a train wreck and I can’t turn away.
  59. If you care, I somehow snuck in getting caught up on The Voice before this weekend.
  60. I told Lindsey we could go out to dinner this weekend, I told her the times of tomorrow’s games, she said they were nighttime so we couldn’t, and I said whoops I guess we can’t.
  61. Sorry-live and breathe these weekends.
  62. Thank you, Steve Kerr, for letting the cat out of the bag about your team chasing 73 wins…never would have thought.
  63. Russell Westbrook’s team win stats when he gets a triple double are staggering.
  64. Lol-I had Batman vs. Superman complaining twice on my list.
  65. That outfield Cespedes play was just weird.
  66. One final UVA note.  I remember when UVA was last in Elite 8.  1995, in college, playing Arkansas, and five poor frat boys looking at each other at halftime saying “If we win, we are GOING.”  We didn’t win.
  67. Zags and Cuse just tipped-gotta go.
  68. Will I blog tomorrow? That is a CLOWN question, bro.
