Catch Of The Day

Ghost.

HOOK:

“Ghost.”

There is an interesting article on ESPN today about LeBron trying to chase the ghost of Michael Jordan.  He is in at 6am training daily because he wants to not just be ONE of the best.  This is a speed lunchtime blog, so I don’t have time to really dive into this again today, but I will give you a 10,000 foot view of my opinion (again).  Athletically, they are different, but both were known as the best athletes in the sport when coming into the league.  They both changed the game in different ways.  You can argue that MJ needed Pippen to get over the hump, and I can say that LeBron went to Miami for a “constructed” team.  You can say that that LeBron had possibly the best Game 7 performance ever, and I can say MJ didn’t ever need a 7th game in the NBA Finals.  You can say LeBron came back from 3-1 on a 73 win team, and I can say that MJ went through Isiah Thomas (who went through Larry Bird the round before) AND Magic Johnson in the same initial playoff run.  You can say that LeBron has three titles and is on his way to being a legend, and I will say that we ALL know MJ would have 8 had he not gotten bored and tried another sport.  I could go on and on.

Get one more and then we can revisit this, LeBron.  Otherwise, my opinion is rock solid and will stay that way until further notice.

I am also always game for other all time arguments.  Locals can always go out for beers with me and we can talk Joe Montana vs. John Elway all DAY.  Terrell Davis HOF.  No.  Etc.

LINE:

“MLB.”

Big winners are the Rangers at the trade deadline.  They add bats, position players, depth and a closer.  Back end of the rotation is only question mark at ALL.  The Yankees contributed to the Rangers’ success, but were successful in their own way by saying in ONE year, we are sellers and we will be back.  Pretty humble and smart by Cashman.

I think Puig and McCann still end up somewhere on waivers.  Why would the Dodgers bring on a replacement for a problem player and not try and unload him?  And why would the Yanks totally reload and still keep underachieving and overpaid Brian McCann?

SINKER:

“Rio.”

Well, we know one guy who isn’t happy about his accommodations.  ab-Capture

THE RIVER:

-Pretty cool of Tom Brady, amidst all of the crap he has going on, to drop in on Kevin Faulk’s local HOF celebration.

-Late addition and we ALL know my feelings on THIS subject.  http://www.wsj.com/articles/nice-cargo-shorts-youre-sleeping-on-the-sofa-1470082856  Thanks, Bob, for passing along.

-Confession:  It is BACKGROUND TV.  There are two reasons why I actually pay attention to Lindsey’s new show addiction (Orange is the New Black I believe it is called) which is on constantly.  One, I hate having shows on in background where I don’t fully understand what is going on.  Two, there is not so occasional girl on girl action.  I am not stupid.  Plus, it brings up the age old question…ummm….hmmmm….never mind.  I will draw the line there.  I will get out of here.

That’s it for today.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
