Eight Friday Hooks.

  1.  Pierre Garcon is leading a class action against FanDuel.  For those of us who just started buying into those damn utterly addictive sites, I think we have limited time to be on one of those commercials saying “I have spent a total of $35 and won over $2 million dollars.”
  2. No one wants to wish concussion trauma on anyone, but here is hoping that after reading Ratliff’s comments, he IS one of those trauma stricken football players.  Sad, sad, sad.  Crazy statements hopefully NOT from a right mind.
  3. “Follow up procedure” are three words no one in the Tiger Woods fan base wanted to hear because that doesn’t really work word wise into any of his driving problems.  Fading away is that guy.
  4. Sad day that ESPN has nixed Grantland.  Yes, Bill Simmons has moved on.  But, the BEST stories on that site are from Grantland, and this is a sad day for its devotees.
  5. Georgia-Florida and Notre Dame-Temple lead the big college games tomorrow.  Here is hoping that the new dental student kicker puts Georgia and their QB controversy out of its misery and that Temple wins THIS big game to finally be REALLY noticed in this fantastic football turnaround.  Actually, since Temple is never good, this is more of a awakening than a turnaround.
  6. In the battle between two season long underachieving college football teams, Oregon survived in three OT’s.  You are the best loser out west right now, Oregon.
  7. I was mad years ago when Harrison Barnes was put on the preseason college basketball All American team.  There was too much nationwide talent to put him on there.  This year, unless you live in a cave, you know Ben Simmons is on every preseason team.  Well, I would say that early entrants in the draft by the dozen and less talent overall put him firmly on this team this year.  And, if you have seen ANY footage of his play, you would concur.  Kid can PLAY.
  8. Tonight the Mets try and not fall into a 3-0 hole in the World Series.  I think the Mets take this one.  No real reason but EVENTUALLY that sick pitching staff has to win one, eventually they will get run support getting to Royals pitchers, and eventually the Royals won’t be hitting the ball like a video game.

That’s it.  Enjoy your Friday evening.  Talk to you all this weekend.  Peace.
