Day 2-After sleeping on it for another night…

SIDE NOTE:  I have looked at the blog list I continue to keep, and have decided nothing overrides JUST TALKING ABOUT BRACKETS.  Even Tim Tebow.

MIDWEST:

-I still have UK advancing to the Final Four, but really sense a problem with a Maryland matchup.

-I not only think that Buffalo wins their first game, but hope we get a floor smack from Mr. Hurley’s squad.

-The bottom part of this region has not fluctuated for me.  I like Texas, Notre Dame, Wichita State, and KU to win their first games.

-I am pretty happy with my picks in this region.  UK, Maryland, Notre Dame, and Wichita State, and UK over Wichita State in the Elite 8.

WEST:

-I am pretty much chalk in the top half.  I have changed since yesterday and now think Oregon takes out Oklahoma State.  If I do change this area, I will take Wofford over Arkansas…but not doing it yet.

-Bottom half I get semi-messy.  I will be taking BYU if they win against Ole Miss over Xavier.  I LOVE Georgia State over Baylor.  I like OSU over VCU only because Thad has a week to prepare for the press.  Arizona is a lock.

-Wisconsin beats Oregon, UNC beats Arkansas.  Georgia State beats BYU, and Arizona destroys OSU.  Chalk advances, and Wisconsin over Arizona in the Elite 8.

-I admit to hedging SLIGHTLY about Wisconsin winning this region.  Sticking to them for another day.  Quality players will beat the athletes, but I am more concerned after a night of rest.

EAST:

-Chalk for the first round of games up top.  I don’t foresee any lesser team stepping up.  If I had to pick one, I would take UC Irvine over UL.  UL can’t score and UC Irvine has some athletes to match up.

-I think I am taking STILL either Dayton or Boise over Providence.

-OU, Michigan State, and UVA are fine for the first round.

-IF NC State doesn’t beat Nova, UNI will.  Sticking with it.  UNI is TOUGH.

-Actually, I still like my picks in this region also.  Give me UVA over UVA in the Elite 8.

SOUTH:

-Duke will be fine in the first round, and so will Steve Fisher.

-I probably could foresee myself riding the same horse as last year and taking SF Austin for two rounds.

-In the lower half, where once again ALL of my favorite teams are it seems, I think Iowa State and SMU will be a CLASSIC game, but that Iowa State pulls it out in the second round.  Davidson will win in the mild upset and then lose to Gonzaga.

-Day 2 and I still like Gonzaga on paper.  If they lose, this will be the third year I advance them thinking it is smart and somehow forget about the conference they play in, but I don’t care.  On paper, they look good, and Kyle exiting the UK rotation to win this thing.  Still, Duke has plenty of veterans and young players, and I get the feeling Okafor might put this team on their back.  For today, since we have one more day, I stick with Gonzaga over Duke, but this might change tomorrow.

Wisconsin over UK, Zags over UVA, and Wisconsin over Zags in final…Day 2 complete.

Expect a total 180 tomorrow when I post my official bracket.  I got a feeling that I might have Duke over Arizona.  Or the other way around.
