Catch of the Day. The Clown Prince.

Quick one today as I wrote plenty this weekend…

I am in a better mood than Miko Grimes today, and I told Ezekiel Elliott I could drive myself to work today…

HOOK:

“Finality.”

What an odd ending to the NFL season we have next week.  Sure, there is still suspense, and lots of seeds and divisions are still up in the air.  But, when you look at each conference, you see a lack of crazy playoff scenarios.  In the NFC, ALL six teams have been designated, with no one in the hunt.  All you have is a couple games determining who travels where against who.  In the AFC, aside from a Colts miracle http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/12/28/10673570/nfl-playoffs-2015-scenarios-picture-colts-texans (some crazy Colts fan is in Vegas laying down this bet right NOW), the Steelers, Jets, and Broncos represent the two teams who make it.  Jets and Broncos control their own destiny, and my Steelers need help.  And, if the Broncos win tonight, it will be down to the Jets and Steelers for one spot.  Odd that we could boil down possibly to only one team “in the hunt” on the final weekend in BOTH conferences (very sad that it is mine).

LINE:

“Tonight.”

They are 3.5 point favorites.  They are playing at home.  They have a backup a little more used to playing on the field.  They need a win to guarantee a playoff spot.  Well, with MUCH sorrow to Broncos fans and my mother (also Bronco fan), I have to be THAT guy.  Sorry.  I need the hope of one of two teams losing next week instead of ONE team next week.  Bengals win 23-17, sorry for locals, and I really don’t believe that pick so you technically can’t hate me.

Get the feeling that the backup QB (McCarron yes, and whatever Brock is) who looks good and wins tonight might make a lot of money for themselves in the immediate future??

SINKER:

“Meadowlark.”

We lost a basketball icon yesterday.  Meadowlark Lemon, ex-Harlem Globetrotters legend, passed away.  He of the 24 seasons in over 15,000 games.  He of the constant pranks on refs, players, and crowd.  He of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.  He of the talk shows, commercials, and Scooby Doo cartoons.  You were a joy to watch, George.  You will be missed but never forgotten, especially in the world of hoops.  You were the Clown Prince.
