Catch Of The DayUncategorized

Catch of the Day. The Bubble.

Quick one tonight.  I will have plenty of time this weekend.

  1.  The Stanford band halftime performance was “denounced” by Rose Bowl officials for its act over the holidays.  I went to UVA, and we had a Pep Band at the time that concentrated on everything non musical when playing opponents.  Sure glad we dropped 4 of 5 like every year after starting undefeated so we never had that big stage.  Because I personally think the cow tipping and FarmersOnly.com things are funny.
  2. Cue the sleeping dog cliche or maybe not.  Still deciphering A.P.’s “second best running back” comment  about Lynch and to what degree it is a back handed compliment.  Or maybe he is just being nice to an ex-practice mate.  Never sure with A.P.
  3. Roger Clemens.  I love you, bro, and you were a HOF’er BEFORE you started cheating.  You were incredible.  That being said, your HOF vote went up almost 10 percent this year, time is healing wounds, and there is no need to get in Twitter wars with Mr. Halladay and anyone else dissing you.  You dug your own grave, bro.
  4. Beyonce will join Coldplay at halftime of the Super Bowl, meaning since the Janet Jackson thing pretty much solidified I won’t be seeing any boobs on TV in the near future at Super Bowls, I can therefore miss the entire halftime with two artists I can live the rest of my life without hearing their music again.
  5. Peyton Manning will be the starter for the playoffs.  I agree.  Throw out health, the substitution circumstances, and young legs and the Kubiak offense, and you have this.  Better to go DOWN with the HOF’er ON the field than to have to answer questions for the next 20 years about “what IF” you had started Mr. Manning.
  6. I will have a home page idea update this weekend.
  7. I will have the final edition of the 2016 Rant Squad this weekend.
  8. I will have a very interesting final goodbye to sports heroes who passed away in 2016.  Something I just noticed in the last day or two.
  9. I will have the Bama-Clemson breakdown from The Fillerbuster…this weekend.
  10. Expired plates, aye, Johnny Football?  Can’t wait to wake up tomorrow to see what is next for the public.  You are getting more original every day.
  11. Finally, Lovie Smith.  We woke up to find out he was let go ( I believe by PHONE????) last night.  This is BS.  Giving a coach two years is ridiculous.  Giving a well respected SEASONED coach two years is premature beyond all belief.  To add to this pot, and accompanying the various players and ex-players chiming in their dislike of the decision, he was in the FIRST year with the new franchise QB.  Not sure what bubble the Bucs are living in, but they have to be living in SOME bubble.  We had no idea realistically you all were in “win now” mode, and people writing dribble like this with full time jobs can in one hour tell you all the holes in that roster he was coaching.  Call me.  You made a mistake, Tampa Bay.  I have no reason to dislike you at all, but count me in the group who hopes you take a step back next year, as you fired a classy, solid, winner.
  12. Moors!  Moops!  Moors!  Moops!
  13. That’s it.  LOTS to get to this weekend.  Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
