HOOK:

“Score.”

So, not sure about my time allotment for blogs over the weekend as I head to Utah for scuba certification.  SHOULD have time but I never know.  Anyway, for the record, my Super Bowl prediction is Broncos 27-19.  I think Denver recognizes that the run will set up Peyton for a couple longer attempts.  I think he makes a couple of these throws.  I think Carolina moves the ball in their ridiculous offense, but has to settle for a lot of field goals.  I think it I am partially thinking of ways I can tell you the Broncos can win because of my dislike towards Cam Newton.  I think that I am petrified of seeing 365 days of Cam Newton commercials and how he is incomparable.  But, I think the Broncos CAN do it feasibly also.  Make Cam throw under pressure, and figure out the option from the shotgun that puzzles everyone mentally and physically.  Make the tackles on Cam, as he is bigger than a lot of the defensive guys.  Make Cam NOT have the early lead and finally put him under game pressure in the playoffs.  IF the Panthers get ahead early by two scores, I am not seeing this happen.

LINE:

“Signings.”

Depending on which rankings you read, FSU, Bama, and LSU were the winners on Signing Day.  Scarier thought is how many top flight guys Bama still lost.  They were outside the top 3 in 2007 and have not been out since.  Amazing run.  Ohio State did not jump off the page, but did consistently well.  Michigan was back last year and will continue to be back with a BIG final jump.  And their big time love for the state of New Jersey.  Texas was not back last year, and now has a foundation to be back.  Lots of the usual suspects through the next 15 or so, and then schools like Nebraska and OU surprisingly in the 20’s still.  Very, VERY proud of my Wahoos for finishing a stellar 62nd in the rankings.  Bronco has his work cut out for him.  mi-nj

SINKER:

“Dunk.”

Not sure if I would have used the D word as a coach, but it did resonate.  Bill Self righteously lit UP his player, Brannen Greene, for dunking VERY late with a huge lead over K-State.  Final margin was 18 points, and Self SHOULD have lit him up.  Kid has to learn.  Praise in public, and criticize in private is the normal rule, but telling publicly this story was needed to let the rivals know A) it was noted to the kid that it was wrong what he did and B) that the kid would never do it again.

THE RIVER:

Lightning Round.

-Pretty incredible when one player gets 24 points and another player gets a triple double and they are footnotes after Curry’s 51.  That team is dirty.

-I try to ignore any articles about Dwight Howard these days, but glad “hitting ref” and “maybe trade” are around his persona.  Idiot.

-Kind of more quiet on the Blake Griffin front than I expected, as I was hoping for some juicy details at this point.

-Maybe he was drunk, but not sure how Jay Williams but Kyrie in ahead of Bobby Hurley on his All Duke team last night.  Hmmm.  Guy who won a couple championships vs. guy who played like 10 games.

And dammit YES, women should be considered candidates and interviewed for all NFL executive positions.  Good to hear.

That’s it.  I will talk with you here and there this weekend.  Heading to Homestead Crater for certification tomorrow afternoon.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
