Catch of the Day.

One hook and one hook only…

nba222-Capture

I have a list building, and probably should unload it, but I don’t have the time today.  So, thought I would comment on this random post tax NBA salary rankings list I found on cnnsi so we can marvel on how much money is actually spent on guys who just can’t win.

(Inverted order)

Chris Paul:  He needs a winning sidekick (Griffin) like everyone else, and his early years were on bad teams.  Not making fun of this guy.  He is winning at some point, puts up the stats, and is worth the cash.  Worth it.

Derrick Rose:  Not cracking on this guy either.  The end of the list is strongest actually.  He seems to possess everything a winner needs-we just need him healthy to see it progress.  Worth it only when healthy..

Kevin Durant:  He will win one at some point, or truly will go down as the Dan Marino of basketball.  Little bit of bad luck, little bit of being in the West.  Worth it, but mainly stats related.

LeBron James:  Moving on…

Carmelo Anthony:  Here is where it starts getting fun.  Doesn’t understand he can get his points and pass too.  He probably could have made more noise in playoffs in Denver, and now is in new system with lack of help.  I still think he is an idiot who doesn’t play defense.  Guess we are paying him per point.  Never worth it, unless they paid him at Syracuse.

Chris Bosh:  He was seen in Cleveland looking at homes last week.  Not worth it.

Kobe Bryant:  WAS worth it, but how can’t he not dock himself some cash to be a better team.

Amare Stoudemire:  Off the top of my head, he ranks #2 on funny contracts as he has sucked for SO long since getting paid.  #1 was Rashard Lewis and #3 was Gilbert Arenas.

Dwight Howard:  Must be paying him for height in inches combined with bulk of biceps.  He is taking this money with a smile because he is like the only old school big man in the NBA right now.  I hate him.  Wish we could pull back some cash until he proves he can take it to the next level.

Joe Johnson:  This guy is like an 80’s band that made it the entire decade.  Think about how we are not sure who he is, whether he is a leader, whether he plays for wins or money, if he even WANTS the ball at the end of the game, and yet he STILL has gotten overpaid TWICE.  I think calling him Duran Duran is too nice.  How about The Cure?  Had a weird following, never really made it huge, but just kept hanging around?  17-4-4, people.  That is just above mediocre.  Had a ring?  Then, ok.  Gotten close?  Ok.  None of the above.  Amazing waste of money.

Summary?  Amazing to look at this list and see 4-5 guys only who are worth the dough.
