Catch of the Day.

The midseason reshuffle:

Let’s quickly break down who will be in the playoff based on remaining schedule and where we are at right now.

-Let’s toss out anyone out of the top 15, as we are pretty late in the game to move up from anywhere outside of there. Sorry, Toledo and Memphis.

-Let’s toss out one loss teams that didn’t need a loss on their resume to be in the final push.  That means you, A&M, Florida, and Notre Dame.

-Let’s toss out unbeaten teams with a RIDICULOUS final gauntlet which they won’t run.  That means you, Oklahoma State, and your trek vs. TCU, Baylor, and OU.

-Let’s assume that Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma will ALL beat up on each other and therefore eliminate each other.

-Let’s assume that Stanford loses either against Oregon or Notre Dame, which is reasonable.

-Let’s assume FSU loses either against Georgia Tech, Clemson, or Florida, which is reasonable.

-Let’s assume the Fournette machine takes a detour either at Bama, at Ole Miss, or against A&M, which is reasonable.

-Let’s assume Iowa does indeed run the table with their weak remaining schedule, but gets bumped in the championship game.

-Let’s assume Clemson handles their business, with toughest games being the U, FSU, and South Carolina.

-So, what does that leave us with?  It leaves us with three teams and the winner of the Michigan State-Ohio State game as the fourth.  Give me Michigan State in that game.  Your playoff teams are Utah, Clemson, Michigan State, and lose early, win late Alabama.

That’s it for today.  Peace.
