Catch of the Day.

Slow sports day in the headlines, so a perfect day for me to break down my college predictions for 2015.  I work for a living, so I will just do the top 8-10 teams and my college football playoff teams.

TEAMS TO WATCH WHO COULD MAKE THE PLAYOFF AND SURPRISE EVERYONE:

Arkansas, Arizona State, Georgia Tech

TEAMS PEOPLE LOVE TO PICK THAT I AM NOT PICKING:

Notre Dame, FSU

DANGEROUS, BUT NOT IN MY BOOK THIS YEAR:

Stanford, UCLA, Ole Miss, Clemson, LSU

(Yes, not everyone in the top 25 is in here)

THE ONES THAT WERE CLOSE AND WHY I DIDN’T PICK THEM:

Auburn: They will lose in the third week AT LSU.  If not, they play at Arkansas, and get home games against Bama and Georgia in the last three games.

Baylor:  OU will beat them in their crib (and what a fun, fast paced game that will be).  They also play at TCU.

Michigan State:  WANT to pick them, but they go TO Nebraska, TO Ohio State, and go TO dangerous Michigan.

Bama: Getting by the dangerous Wisconsin opener, do I really need to break down how they will lose ONE of the at Auburn, Miss. State, or Georgia games?

TCU: They end going TO OU, and then recovering to host Baylor the next week.  No championship game means they will be on the outside looking in again.

USC: A dangerous Arizona team is on their schedule even IF you ignore going to Notre Dame and ASU.

SO WHAT DO WE HAVE LEFT?

Ohio State:  Because I am not stupid, the squad was supposed to win it this year (not last), everyone is back, and they get Michigan State at their crib.  My only worries are that they plan on playing two QB’s…because they are both THAT good.

Oregon: Their problematic game is going to Michigan State.  I think transfer Vernon Adams will get invited to New York this year, they get USC at home, and then can tidy up the season going to Stanford and winning.

Oklahoma:  Air Raid in Norman.  Love the QB choice.  Going to Baylor and a dangerous Tennessee crib is not good, but Texas ain’t good enough yet, they get TCU at home, and they play better when we think they are no good as we all know.  Perine is a machine.

Georgia:  Sure, I go against all of my scheduling analysis with this pick.  They travel to: Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, and GTech.  At least they get Bama at home.  Nick Chubb will win the Heisman.  Greyson Lambert will be the most famous ex-UVA QB of all time (and he has experience).  Talent galore elsewhere.  And UGA will surprise everyone against a brutal schedule to make the playoff.

Argue away.  That’s it for today.  Peace.
