Catch of the Day.

HOOK:

“Open.”

Well, we are to Major #3 week in the PGA world.  Across the pond, another weekend of early mornings, and according to Tiger, the grass is longer than it is typically over there.  But, we don’t care what Tiger thinks at this point, regardless of his last round being a 67.  Before we talked about how few of rounds were OVER par for Tiger.  Now, people get excited when he EVER goes under par in a round.  Weird how that works.  Anyway, give me a guy who won on the links last week, the guy who should have been in the hospital last Major, and the guy who everyone has kind of forgot about recently as my big three guys.  Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, and Paul Casey.  I think Spieth finally loses, and that the final three putt will haunt Dustin Johnson for a little while longer before he shows his mad skills on the leaderboard again.

LINE:

“Rumor.”

LOVE this story.  Apparently, the Mavs are talking with JaVale McGee about playing for them.  Why does a person who in the past HATED on McGee’s game suddenly love a team chatting with him?  One word.  Upside.  McGee was supposed to be better.  McGee still is a freak of nature athletically.  McGee has more upside than other journeyman on the market.  McGee still is young.  They can’t replace the All Star they got screwed over by.  But, they can take a flier on a young kid who hasn’t become the star we were expecting just in CASE he still has that in him.  The gamble is worth it, Cuban.

SINKER:

“Contract.”

I am not going to sit here and say Dez Bryant is NOT the best receiver in the NFL.  What I WILL say is this.  $12.8 million as a franchise player is not chump change.  You had the most TD’s last year, but I can make an argument for another 3 or 4 other guys being the best.  Bottom line.  You are an incredible talent, but there are easier and classier ways for you to get paid than just threatening not playing regular season games and camp attendance.  Come on.  The stats say a lot of things, Dez.

Honorable Mentions:

-I don’t care about your nightmares, LeBron.

-Yes, I am aware I didn’t mention the Home Run Derby.  Not a priority, and I may or may not watch it.

That’s it for today.  Talk to you tomorrow.  Peace.
