Catch of the Day.

HOOK:

“Inconvenient.”

Well, it’s ON, and at a very inconvenient time.  Wednesday, yes WEDNESDAY, morning will feature the match of the year thus far.  The French Open match will have the hottest player in the land in Djokovic against the very much PREVIOUSLY inconsistent but now righted king of clay in Mr. Nadal.  Djokovic is playing great-I will give you that.  Says here Nadal wins in four sets, with the set he drops being in a tiebreaker.  I think there is even a chance that this is Nadal’s last French Open as you KNOW he would like to go out a winner.

Sharapova losing is sad, because with Halep and Bouchard already out, and Kvitova on Serena’s side of the bracket, it means people will most likely need to Google whoever one of these ladies plays in the finals.

LINE:

“Gone.”

I might as well cover this story ONE more time as it looks like the writing is on the wall.  Fred Hoiberg is telling people he is leaving Iowa State, and I am saddened by this decision.  True, he has superstars in Rose and Butler, an experienced front court, he has inside connections there, and it is a basketball city.  But for the millionth time, you don’t leave THAT team (from #2-#6 in preseason rankings I have seen) right NOW…especially when your nickname is The Mayor and you signed a 10 year contract with your Alma Mater in 2013.

Two fun links:

This guy is definitely smoking something on a couple of these choices (thanks for passing this along, Vince):  http://www.sportsbreak.com/nba/6-players-who-would-beat-lebron-james-1-on-1/?utm_source=zergnet.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=zergnet_493549

I am passing this along as we talked about it today briefly at work when I said LeBron has taken some RIDICULOUSLY bad teams to the NBA Finals, and this list provides some stats and breakdown of this interesting topic:  http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/where-this-years-cavs-rank-among-lebrons-nba-finals-supporting-casts/

SINKER:

“Return.”

This is actually the sinker NOT because UAB got their football team BACK today, but because they should have never lost it in the first place.  Glad it ended well, but it shouldn’t have gone down at ALL.  I believe 56 players have transferred since the initial decision came down.

(Don’t even FEEL like mentioning the water bottle and Johnny Manziel)

That is it.  Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro (.325, 18, 43, .469).  Peace.
