So glad to have football back. Whether we talk about office pools, fantasy teams, Del Rio two point conversions, an amazing David Johnson run, crazy endings with certain teams making late statements, young QB’s shining, double headers on Monday, the incredible MMQB read I look forward to every Monday but a little better when football is actually going ON, the Seahawks scraping by and with a possible Wilson injury, the Lions being 1-0, RGIII getting hurt in his first comeback game, Marshall and Kaep kneeling with others joining them, sad injuries that might sit youthful talent Sammy Watkins and Keenan Allen, Adam Jones saying dumb stuff, helmet hits, embarrassed GM’s, Jameis Winston reminding us that both his football smarts and physical gifts are amazing, the Saints playing video games and not stopping anyone, and point spreads, we are all glad to have it back.
Not saying much about tonight’s games. I think we will look good and take care of business. #steelers Interesting I have a lead and the Steelers defense and my opponent has Antonio Brown left. The other game is on too late for me. Hoping I see some Tavon Austin highlights since they just paid the guy and I have him stashed on my fantasy bench.

Stan Wawrinka’s win yesterday suddenly put him at THREE Grand Slam titles. That is legit. That is not having one good run, and maybe getting hot/ lucky again. Three wins at three different Grand Slam events means you are definitively legit. Doing it with current generational players who are considered some of the best ever is amazing and deserves respect. Djokovic, Nadal, Murray, and Federer are no joke peers. The style of play is a little different, but his presence reminds me a little of my favorite guy, Mats Wilander. Wilander did his thing while guys around him playing were chumps like Lendl, Edberg, Connors, McEnroe, Becker, Agassi, etc. And Mats still pulled off three in one year. Wawrinka is another guy who just does his thing and beats the best.
SINKER:

Brandon Jackson was 20 years old and WAY too young to die. Thoughts and prayers to the ex-Army CB who died in a single car crash over the weekend.
THE RIVER:
-All this talk about the NFL kind of drapes over the incredibly exciting Saturday we have coming up after a week with many good teams playing directional schools. With a little foreplay on Thursday of Houston going to visit a 2-0 Cincy team, the games I am excited about are the following:
Ohio State at OU: The Big 12 might be the conference left out of the playoff if the Sooners don’t pull a win out Saturday.
Bama at Ole Miss: Judge it how you want. Ole Miss is literally the only team that seems to be able to beat Bama.
Oregon at Nebraska: Pretty sure Huskers know THIS game is a statement game for them being back in the national pulse.
Michigan State at Notre Dame: A chance for Notre Dame to reel this season’s hopes back in.
FSU at Louisville: If this isn’t the biggest game in Louisville history, says here it is damn close to being that.
